VICTON’s “READY” Showcase
Brought to you by your friends at Kpopmap.
1. READY TO BEGIN
VICTON began their showcase with a performance of their sub-track, “Ulta”. The boys appeared in front us dressed in the chic black on black outfits. The boys completely owned the stage with their signature energetic stage manners. One of the most entertaining aspects of their performance was the cute interactions between the boys in between the lyrics. The high fives, the playful gazes, the hearts flying, and just the cute interactions are definitely a point to look forward to!
2. READY TO DANCE
SeungWoo and HeoChan were revealed to be behind the choreography design. The two boys paired up to create the entire choreography from feel to point. When asked what was their inspiration for the routine, Chan revealed that he created the dance at a fitness gym. He recalled that he once overworked his arms with the barbell, which eventually became the dance point in the dance. If you’re wondering why their arm movements don’t look powerful for the track, you know that it’s because Chan’s arms were hurting when he created it!
3. READY TO COMEBACK
The boys just released their new album just 4 months after their official debut back in November. Their new album, “READY”, means that the boys debuted with their 1st album, but are now ready to show all that they’ve got through their new album. Although they say that they’re more than ready to showcase their all, you couldn’t help but fall in love with the boys’ nervousness. Perhaps it’s because of the high expectations put on them by the immense love that they’ve received for their debut album, the seven members were stumbling through their words and shyly smiling at their small mistakes throughout the showcase.
4. READY YOUR EYEZ EYEZ
VICTON continued their showcase with the long awaited live performance of their title track, “EYEZ EYEZ”. As teased through their comeback trailers, the boys’ choreography sync was on point! The boys were basically one body as they danced together on point at the same time and same angle. They even jumped together at the same time to the same height! Aside from their amazing KalGunMu, we definitely think you’ll love their new lyrics as they sing for you to have your eyes only on VICTON and them alone.
5. READY OUR TEAMWORK
ByungChan has been active in the variety show industry from the very beginning of their debut, and he’s been gaining a lot of love. When asked what other show he’d like to guest star on, he replied that although he’s grateful for the love he receives, he wants to showcase the VICTON teamwork. He explained that he’s very proud of his team and their chemistry. ByungChan hopes that all seven members will be able to feature on teamwork shows, such as “Running Man” and “Knowing Bros”.
6. READY FOR SCHOOL
March 2nd marked the first day of classes for schools all around Korea. VICTON’s cute maknae, SuBin, was actually supposed to go to school today, but he was unable to attend his first day, because the date coincided with their album’s release date. Best known for his friendly relationship with his school mates, SuBin gave a cute shout out to his class mates. He said, “Hey friends. I’m sorry that I couldn’t attend the first day of class. I’m working hard for our new album, but I’ll also work hard as a student.” His cute mannered shout out was absolutely loved by the crowd as he received a round of ‘aww’s.
7. READY FOR CENTER
MC Ding Dong couldn’t help but focus on the group’s main visual. SeJun was complimented for his looks since his debut, and was asked whether that has changed. SeungWoo responded that they still believe that SeJun is the best looking out of all of the seven members. So we had to ask, which expression was SeJun’s most confident look? SeungWoo shouted out that he believed SeJun’s emotionless face was his favorite, because it looked so sexy and beautiful. The group revealed that SeJun’s visual was undeniable, and that’s why he’s always placed in the center – I mean those dimples! Basically, SeJun has been, is and will be the main visual of VICTON.
8. READY FOR SUNRISE
VICTON’s last stage performance was their sub-track called ‘Sunrise’. The boys toned down their energy for the slow and heavy R&B track. The boys looked amazing as they crooned about the hard times that they’ve face for their bright future. The lyrics were completed written by the leader, SeungWoo, with the raps by HanSe. As expected by a Plan A artist, VICTON’s soothing vocals were above rookie-status as both of our eyes and ears were utterly focused in on the performance.
9. READY FOR FANS’ LOVE
Just after a hundred days since their debut, the boys have created their official fandom name! The name was revealed as ALICE, and we had to ask why they chose the name. The boys revealed that they chose the name ALICE, because it stands for the phrase “Always We Love the Voice”. Since their name VICTON stands for “VOICE TO THE NEW WORLD”, their fandom name means that their fans will always love the boys and their voices. Congratulations to the boys and their new fandom name, now all we need is an official fandom light stick!
10. READY FOR VICTON
To close out the night, VICTON revealed their future goals for their “READY” promotions. SeJun revealed that they hoped that they’ll be able to become closer to their fans ALICE and also reach out to people who have yet to meet them. For their long term goals, SeungSik expressed that he wished to become a group known as the group who always works hard and consistently improves with each album. To add to his older brother, SuBin added that he wanted to become a group who enjoys music.
VICTON’s “Voice to New World” showcase was held on November 9th at the Yes24 Hall in Seoul. As an astounding debut showcase, the boys performed a total of 4 songs, and held an in depth interview to introduce us to their debut album in detail. With such care and attention, VICTON held their showcase as a complete success. An impressive amount of reporters and fans showed up tonight, even when the boys were just launching off their careers. As debuting rookies, VICTON started off their path to K-Pop stardom on a very strong note.
We introduce the brand new rookies, VICTON, through the 12 things that can only be found at a debut showcase held by the boys of VICTON!
VICTON’s “Voice to New World” Showcase
Brought to you by your friends at Kpopmap
1. VOICE TO NEW MODELS
The long awaited debut of the VICTON boys finally happened tonight! All of the 7 boys walked up on stage dressed in their signature fashion style and we honestly thought were at a fashion runway. All of the boys were so stylish, so fashionable and just complete eye candy. As the boys each introduced themselves for the first time, the VICTON boys would laugh with each other and clap after each introduction. The cute chemistry between the seven members were just as sweet as we’ve seen on their debut reality show, “Me & 7Men”.
2. VOICE TO NEW SEJUN
For the start of their showcase, the VICTON boys held a photo time to celebrate their debut. The main visual, Im SeJun came out onto the huge stage to pose by himself. Although SeJun was confident while standing center among his brother, he turned stiff and nervous as he stood on stage by himself in front of the large crowd of flashing lights. His stiff poses were so adorable that we wanted to give him a warm hug, but as the time passed SeJun’s natural stage presence started to show. He flashed his signature smile, and our hearts melted right along with him.
3. VOICE TO NEW ROOKIES
We can’t imagine just how much pressure and stress the VICTON boys must have been under as they stood on their debut stage. After long, hard years of vigorous training, the idols were finally able to achieve their hard earned debut. Standing on D-Day, the boys couldn’t help but be overcome with nervousness – and it adorably showed. The 7 boys that we’ve seen constantly fooling around during “Me & 7Men” were replaced by 7 handsome manequinns. Although they may have been stiff with nerves for their debut, we can’t wait to see just how much they’ll grow over the years!
4. VOICE TO NEW WHAT TIME IS IT
The boys’ opening stage was the performance of one of their double title track, ‘What Time Is It?’. The stage began with a hypnotic intro video, followed by the opening of the screen doors to reveal our handsome boys glowing in red light. As the performance began, everything literally stopped. The boys were amazing as they completely forgot their rookie nerves and just owned the stage. With their charismatic choreography and action-movie-like routines, VICTON killed it. One member particularly took us by surprise. The group’s main rapper, Do HanSe’s rapping tone was something we’ve never heard before. With his amazing voice and killer stage presence, HanSe took the title track and made it his own.
5. VOICE TO NEW FRIENDS
When asked what kind of idol group they would like to be known as, VICTON answered that they want to be known as friend-idols. SeJun boasted that they have strong confidence in their teamwork, and it showed. The boys would give each other such sweet, secret smiles and supportive pats all throughout the night. Just as much as they get along as members, they hope to be able to have a close friend-like relationship with their fans. We think VICTON fans can look forward to a lot of special meetings with the freshly debuted boys.
6. VOICE TO NEW SMILES
SeungSik, the main vocalist and mom of the group, opened up their sub-track, ‘Smile At Me’ with such a beautiful melody. The harmony, the mic stand choreography, the belted notes, and the impressive vocal skills of every member – the stage was literally perfection. As expected of a group by Plan A Entertainment, VICTON didn’t fail in impressing us with a spectacular ballad stage. We knew the boys were talented, but how can each one of the members have such astounding voice quality?
7. VOICE TO NEW HEO CHAN
VICTON was asked about their individual specialties. Heo Chan stood up to show why he’s titled as the main dancer of the group. The idol stood up to show us a brief, yet bold dance routine – and it was incredible. Although he’s charismatic and chic when he’s in dance mode, he’s got a ditzy side to him off stage! All through the showcase, Heo Chan would make the silliest stumbles while speaking and top it off with his wide, bright smile. Heo Chan is definitely our loveable dancer.
8. VOICE TO NEW DIMPLES
VICTON is out to kill us. ByungChan, SeJun, and Heo Chan literally ended us with their adorable dimples! Three out of the seven boys have been blessed with the gift of the cheeky charm. During their performance or whenever they would flash their cheerful smiles, the three’s dimples would peek out and turn us into complete jelly.
9. VOICE TO NEW SENIOR
The one and only Huh Gakmade a surprise guest appearance to celebrate the debut of his Plan A juniors! The hilariously sweet vocalist came on stage croutching as he told the VICTON boys to stay seated. When the boys stood next to their senior, Huh Gak looked like the group’s little brother who just came to play. Although the difference in height and the years of experience is vast, Huh Gak only has love and support for his younger brothers. All throughout the interview, everything he had to say about the boys was solely praise.
10. VOICE TO NEW COLLABORATION
To fully celebrate his juniors’ debut, Huh Gak performed his collaboration track with VICTON called ‘#BeginAgain’. As the song began, Huh Gak paved the way with his world famous vocals. VICTON soon followed by lacing their blossoming voices to form the most beautiful harmony. If given the chance, a joint live performance of the senior and juniors is a must see!
11. VOICE TO NEW I’M FINE
As their closing stage, VICTON performed their final title track, ‘I’m Fine’. In comparison to their first charismatic stage and their following soft ballad performances, the VICTON boys turned into bright, endearing boys as they showcased an easy to follow choreography that perfectly matched the energetic track. A tip for all you anxious fans is that the boys, especially maknae SuBin, has the cutest expressions for their parts. What’s even better is that the rest of the members don their own cutesy faces even when it’s not their part – serious professional artists!
12. VOICE TO NEW VICTON
VICTON debuted with a load of pressure on their shoulders as the younger brothers of APink. Although they are nervous and excited for their debut, leader SeungWoo promised to never lose track of their goal. The group had named BEAST as their ultimate rolemodel for their teamwork, music and overall achievements. VICTON just started on their path to K-Pop stardom, but the boys vow to always work hard, do their best, and go above and beyond to be the best VICTON that they can be. Watch out world, VICTON is here!
