K-Pop idols’ famous friendships are well known around the world, but did you know that they were also best friends with these celebrities?
For our first Chart 10 Wednesday edition, we decided to find out some of the most surprising friendships that exist in the K-Pop industry. There are famous friends who’s relationships just make sense and are totally expected, but did you know that these friendship pairs existed?

10. BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and Lee SooHyuk
Among G-Dragon‘s extensive line of friendship network, there is one special BFF that usually takes everyone by surprise! G-Dragon is a very close friend and treasured confidant of actor Lee SooHyuk. They met together during their early debut days, and instantly clicked over their love for fashion and innovation. They even belong to a specific group of friends called “NuDding”, which stands for ‘new think’.

9. VIXX’s HongBin and Park HyoShin
You probably thought they were just former label mates, but VIXX’s HongBin and Park HyoShin share a fairy tale friendship story. HongBin received a ton of love call castings during his high school days, but he rejected it all in order to join Jellyfish Entertainment. He had been a long time fan since he was young, and wished to train under the same company as Park HyoShin. After debuting as VIXX, Park HyoShin and HongBin became very close friends who visits each others’ performance activities. Here’s to a true ‘Successful Fan’ fairytale!
8. SNSD’s HyoYeon and Lee JongSuk
We know that HyoYeon‘s fresh personality attracts a lot of A-Lister friends, but did you know she’s one of the closest friends to actor Lee JongSuk? The latest heartthrob sensation has even named HyoYeon as his only friend that he can be completely honest with. The two met while training together briefly for a potential K-Pop debut. Although the meeting was short and the two split to different companies, their friendship remains strong as they continue to support and cheer each other on.

7. SHINee’s MinHo and Son HyunJoo
MinHo‘s surprising best friend is older… much older… 26 years older to be exact! MinHo is surprisingly one of the close friends to the veteran actor Son HyunJoo. The two met through their drinking group, but became fast friends through their interest in acting. Son HyunJoo has recalled MinHo as one of his dearest companions on interviews, and so has MinHo!

6. BIGBANG’s T.O.P and Lee DongHwi
Knowing T.O.P‘s unique personality and tastes, you’d think he’d be one of a kind. Apparently not, because his surprising close relationship with Lee DongHwi blossomed through similar tastes! Lee DongHwi fondly recalled how T.O.P would drive him around and even lend him clothes during his difficult times. The two were cast together for the movie “Tazza 2”, and T.O.P would offer up his spacious room to use together. Although the two are busy with their schedules, they make sure to find time to catch up with one another frequently.

5. BTS’s Jin and Lee GukJoo
Surprise, surprise! BTS Jin has been one of the first close celebrity friend of comedian Lee GukJoo. GukJoo is famous for her hilarious personality that attracts some of the most handsome idols in the industry, such as Henry and Jackson to name a few! But Jin and Lee GukJoo has been close friends for a long time as her name could be found in the Thank You section of early BTS albums for Jin. The two were so close that their meet ups even stirred up dating rumors between the two.

4. BLOCK B’s Zico and Choi TaeJoon
You know Zico‘s fast friends with big names such as Mino, Zion.T and more, but did you know he’s maintained an 8 year bromance with the actor Choi TaeJoon? The two met during their pre-debut days when they both had the same audition manager. Through the connection, the two leaned on each other during high and low times of their career. The two is well known to go traveling together and even share each others’ home pass codes!

3. FIESTAR’s CaoLu and Kang HaNeul
Cao Lu has an extensive line of foreign-celebrity friends, but she’s also the close friend to rising actor, Kang HaNeul! The two met during their studies at the JoongAng University. They would frequently meet up to chat, study and drink together back in the day. HaNeul even admitted that he called her by an endearing nickname – ‘Olu’. Aww~

2. SISTAR’s HyoLyn and Park SeoJun
The two met during their love interest roles on “Dream High 2”, but their friendship has grown closer ever since. Park SeoJun revealed in an interview that he never thought that it was possible to become friends with a girl, but he fell head over heels in friendly love with HyoLyn‘s refreshing and blunt personality. The two frequently visit each others’ promotional tours to cheer each other on. And fans can’t get enough of their sneaky skin ships in between!

This flower boy bromance is well known among the A.R.M.Ys. BTS’s V and Park BoGum became fast friends when V bluntly approached Park BoGum for his phone number during their music show MC era. Since then, the two shared mutual love and respect for music and composing. After relying on each other for music and acting advise, the two are often seen hanging out with each other at concerts and promotional events. People usually take their significant other on an amusement park date, but V’s choice of date was with none other than Park BoGum!
