2PM just returned with their 6th full-album, “Gentlemen’s Game”, on September 12, 2016! With 8 years under their belt, 2PM certainly has gone under more than a few stages of change. To celebrate the group’s long awaited comeback, we look back at the group throughout the years!

Debut to Now: 2PM

(2016 Comeback)

1. Discography (Album Covers)

2PM debuted on September 4th, 2008 with their first single, “Hottest Time of the Day” with title track “10 Out of 10”. When “pretty boys” were all the craze, 2PM changed the K-Pop game with their manly, beastly image. Since then the boys have 6 full length albums and multiple single/mini-albums under their belt. The beginning of phase of their albums were mainly hip hop, R&B dance tracks. As the years went by, the boys took a turn to bring in a more electric vibe with their signature hit, “Hands Up” and “Go Crazy”. Overall, the image of the 2PM boys toned down to more gentlemen-esque feels than rowdy boys.

2. TaecYeon

TaecYeon was famous as the “boy who beat puberty” when he first debuted. After gaining attention for his nerdy pre-debut photos, TaecYeon proved just how manly he’d gotten by ripping his shirts off to show us his six packs and just owning the beast-face. As the years went by, we feel the idol became much more smooth. He dropped his beast rage for a masculine sex appeal, especially since he started getting into the acting field.

3. NichKhun

The Thai Prince was always loved for his baby face, but muscular body. That’s never going to change. Ever the visual of the group, NichKhun’s popularity for his good looks remained unchanged since 2008 to 2016. Vampire much? One thing that has changed is the fact that his Korean improved drastically. Don’t you think he look more Korean, now?

4. Jun. K

Jun. K is probably the member with the most changes since their debut. First, he’s changed his name all together. He was born, Kim JunSu (same as TVXQ/JYJ’s JunSu) and debuted as JunSu. However, his mother decided to change his name to Kim MinJun after a shaman told her that Kim JunSu would not bring her son good fortune. After his name change, JunSu/MinJun started to go by Jun. K on stage. You may also notice that Jun. K’s undergone plastic surgery since his debut. But what hasn’t changed? His everlasting singing talent, of course! Jun.K is and forever will be 2PM’s lead singer, as well as recent composer!

5. WooYoung

The 2PM dancing machine hasn’t changed much since their debut. One thing that had changed since debut was when Jay Park left. Without the main dancer and lead singer, WooYoung had to step up to the plate to fill in Jay’s parts. As the main dancer and main vocalist of 2PM, WooYoung’s skills as a musician has since grown tremendously. Not to mention, WooYoung shed his cute baby face for a more manly vibe since delving into the acting scene.

6. JunHo

JunHo was the member who had struggled in finding his signature color among the group. During his debut days, JunHo never received much of the attention, but that all changed. Ever since debut, JunHo became active as a singer-songwriter, dancer and actor. With his multi-skills JunHo found his own identity among the 2PM members and finally feel comfortable in his own skin.

7. ChanSung

What’s funny about ChanSung is that as the years go by, he starts to look more and more like the maknae that he is. When 2PM first debuted, no one would have guessed that ChanSung was the maknae. Everyone called him the “old maknae”, because of his mature-for-his-age looks. However, they say that those with mature faces grow up with the same face to eventually become dong-ahns (people who look young for their age). That’s exactly what ChanSung is! Compared to their debut days, when you look at 2PM’s group photos now, you won’t be too surprised to hear that ChanSung is the baby of the group.

FT ISLAND is a 5 member pop rock bank formed by FNC Entertainment. They were the first ever group to debut under FNC Entertainment. The band consists of members JongHoon, HongGi, JaeJin, MinHwan and SeungHyun. They debuted on June 7, 2007 with their debut album “Cheerful Sensibility” and the title track ‘Love Sick’. The band was a hit from the beginning as a talented flower-boy band, mastering in both talent and visuals. As a band, they have broken records and made history among the K-Pop stars. The boys are all set to make their comeback on July 18, 2016 with their impressive 6th album titled “Where’s the Truth?”

Have these K-Pop rock stars changed much since their debut? Take a look to see their accomplishments so far and what we have to look forward to from now on!

Debut to Now: FT ISLAND

(2016 Comeback)

1. Discography (Album Covers)

As the first ever artists under FNC Entertainment, the group has an extensive list of discography. The band has always been diverse in their music, from soft rock to completely pop. One thing that has never changed was their talented instrumental skills. The band has always took the stage as an instrumental band. They started off with a ballad type rock with “Love Sick” back in 2007. Their latest track ‘Pray’ from “I Will” was one of the most heavy metal rock styled songs that the group released. Their upcoming track ‘Take Me Now’ seems to have a similar taste to their ‘Pray’ vibe rather than their ‘Love Sick’.

2. FT ISLAND Members

JongHoon: As the leader and main guitarist of the band, JongHoon has always been in charge of the charisma and all around heartthrob hunk-ness. A personally favorite in JungHoon’s growth was when he added keyboardist to his list of position. We recommend checking out his solo “Severely” performance on the keyboard during FT ISLAND’s FTHNX Concert. A man on the keys is definitely a sexy sight!

HongGi: The main face and vocalist of the band, HongGi started off as an adorable flower boy with a kick ass husky sound. The huskiness hasn’t changed, but HongGi has definitely shed some of his flower-boy prettiness for a rebellious rock band image. With his multiple flavorful tattoos and a more mature image, HongGi grew into his main-vocalist-of-a-band role just perfectly.

JaeJin: JaeJin debuted with such a cute image that it was hard to see how he will mature with the boys, but JaeJin did just that! Not only did he grow in nicely into a man from a cute boy, but also into the shoes of an actor. Following his older sisters’ footsteps, JaeJin tried his hand in acting. He made his acting debut in 2007 with “Unstoppable Marriage”, but soon went on to nab more prestigious roles on screen as well as on stage!

MinHwan: As the maknae of the group in charge of drums, MinHwan had a slight awkward side to him during their early stages. That awkwardness took a turn for the better as we can evidently see in the photos below. MinHwan had slowly, but surely, shed his awkward rookie-ness and grew up to embrace the sexier side of himself. MinHwan’s physical appearance wasn’t the only thing that improved over time. His vocal talents improved drastically over the years, landing him the main role of Lee Shin in the Japanese musical, “Goong”!

SeungHyun: Although SeungHyun was added into the lineup 2 years after the band’s debut, he has become an essential part of the group. As a ‘replacement’ for former member, Oh WonBin, many had their speculations. How would the band be with a new 2nd guitarist? Well the Primadonnas had little to worry about, because SeungHyun was an added freshness that completed the band. As SeungHyun progressed with the band, he started dabbling in composing as well. We can’t wait to see how much more this heartthrob is going to grow!

Must Read : Teaser )) Wonder Girls “Why So Lonely”

Wonder Girls is a 4 member band group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group was the first girl group to debut under JYPE and consists of YeEun, YuBin, HyeLim and SunMi. The group debuted on February 13, 2007 with their debut single, “Irony”. The group became the hottest girl group on the K-Pop scene when they unleashed their monster-hit title “Tell Me” with their 1st album. Although the group had undergone multiple member changes, the girls continue to return with outstanding music. Ever since the “Wonder Girls Reboot”, the group had decided to pursue a band concept, where each member plays a different instrument. The girls are set to return on July 5, 2016 with their new album “Why So Lonely”.

Have these K-Pop divas changed much since their debut? Take a look to see their accomplishments so far and what we have to look forward to from now on!

Debut to Now: Wonder Girls

(2016 Comeback)

1. Discography (Album Covers)

As the first girl group to debut under JYPE, the Wonder Girls’ sense of style and music had definitely seen various experimental stages. The girls had first debuted with “Irony”, a track derived of hip-hop feels and low beats. Their sound took a sharp turn with the addition of YuBin for their 1st album, “The Wonder Years”. The album marked the beginning of their retro-disco era with their continuous hits of “Tell Me”, “This Fool”, “So Hot”, “Nobody” and more. As the girls slowly made their return back to mother land, after their venture out into the American soil, their style also came to a slower more R&B/Pop style of music. With “Be My Baby” and “Like This”, the girls had found a balance between their hip-hop debut and their disco peak. With SunYe and SoHee’s departure, the girls returned with a whole new reboot of a band concept. Now performing as a quartet band, the 4 Wonder Girls had released “I Feel You” and have plans to return with the new group-produced album, “Why So Lonely”.

2. The Wonder Girls Members

YeEun: YeEun was always the soulful member of the group with her lower ranged R&B-like voice. Along with SunYe, YeEun was one of the main voices for the band. Perhaps it was because of her love and experience for music, but she has now become a talented composer under the name HA:TFELT. Rumor has it that YeEun is the next JYP in training!

YuBin: As the strong tomboy of the group, YuBin has always been the fierceness behind the techno-pop group. The most obvious change about YuBin was definitely her rapping skills. She had always only rapped out a few verses in the middle of their songs, but YuBin had proven just how much her skill had grown by finishing as a semi-finalist on the hip-hop show, “Unpretty Rapstars Volume 2”. Along with her hip hop roots, YuBin’s fashion sense had gone through the roof as she is often sited on the best dressed lists, as well as featured as the main solo model of prestigious fashion magazines.

SunMi: Although SunMi had taken a short break in between 2010-2015, SunMi never lost touch with her 4D quirky character. Although people expect her to be calm and collected because of her beautiful swan-like visuals, SunMi was always the comedic relief of the group with her adorkable gestures. However, a significant change between the break was the increase of sex appeal by our adorable 4D Wonder Girl. Before rejoining with the group, she had sent out solo tracks such as “24 Hours” and “Full Moon” that were gracefully sexy.

HyeLim: The maknae of the veteran group, HyeLim had joined the Wonder Girls in 2010 after the departure of SunMi. Although she has the least amount of experience as a Wonder Girl, HyeLim never falls short. Within such a short period of time, we’ve seen just how much HyeLim worked to prove that she was a Wonder Girl here to stay. Not only did her performance skills improve, but also her rapping and singing skills. We’ll also be able to see more of her composing skills with the latest release. Keep up the good work, babes!

Debut to Now: EXO

(2016 Comeback)

1. Discography (Album Covers)

EXO has continuously released hits after hits with every album, which means that their discography is full of memorable and impressive contents. Even before their debut with their first official mini-album “MAMA”, the boys have been hyped up by Lee SooMan himself through two prologue singles ‘What is Love’ and ‘History’. After their debut mini-album, EXO shot up in the charts starting with ‘Wolf’ of off “XOXO”. They broke into domination status with their mega hit track “Growl”, and history continued on from there. With continual hits such as ‘Overdose’ and ‘Love Me Right’, EXO has reached immortal status in K-Pop history!

SuHo: Our heartthrob leader hasn’t changed his image much since his debut. His dandy image and leadership role has kept the EXO members in check, especially towards the maknae, SeHun. Although his strict personality may be overlooked by his members, he’s maintained the group by winning them over with snacks! Keep up the good work, Leader!

XiuMin: Our dumpling faced baby of EXO’s image hasn’t changed much since debut. He still looks like the maknae of the group with his adorable baby face and small stature, but as the oldest hyung, XiuMin has worked hard to change at least a bit of his cute image. Since debut he has shed much of his baby weight and took on muscle building. We see less of his dumpling cheeks now, but XiuMin will always be our fake maknae of the group!

BaekHyun: Possibly the member with the most personal growth since debut, BaekHyun’s nice guy image seems to be layered with more maturity since his debut. BaekHyun had undergone more turbulence than the other members, since he was the first member to publicly date a fellow celebrity. Whether it’s because of his love experience, his voice now resonates more deeply when singing.

Lay: As the last remaining Chinese member of the group, Lay certainly has a lot of weight on his shoulders. If we thought Lay was hard working since debut, he has upped the scale by working double time to prove to his fans that he is an EXO forever. With his own personal workshop in China, Lee SooMan has given him more responsibilities as the Chinese representative of the group. We can clearly see more maturity and manliness in his image now than his previous sweet boy next door style.

Chen: Chen has certainly been busy upgrading himself. While juggling busy schedules and solo works (such as OST features), Chen’s image of a gentleman is seeing more of a manly edge. As the main vocalist of the group, it’s no wonder how both his image and his skills are upping their game!

D.O: D.O.’s always been the quiet, caring member in the background during their debut stage. However, don’t we EXO-Ls know that our KyungSoo has definitely made his signature presence known! He may seem like a quiet, to-himself kind of person, but D.O definitely had a quirky side. He’s even earned the nickname of “AlMoKyung”, which means “Just as you think you know KyungSoo, you don’t (Aldagado Moleul KyungSoo).” We love both his talented vocalist side, his amazing acting side, and his quirky off the beat side!

ChanYeol: ChanYeol’s bright and happy image hasn’t left him since his first days of debut. And we love him for it! His stand-off-ish image makes him more sexy and unattainable, and that image has followed through with him throughout the years. However, his image has reached a different class. Maybe it’s from all the love he shares with f(x)’s Krystal, but Kai has definitely gotten sexier!
