And for these two stages to be presented again through a choreography video is making the fans excited again. The different charms SEVENTEEN shows on the two videos is also drawing in attention. If ‘Happiness’ shows SEVENTEEN’s innocent and cute charms, ‘Wild Eyes’ shows their mature and sexy man charms, making it more fun for fans to watch the clips.
SEVENTEEN will be holding their first official fan meeting in February in Seoul.
On December 5th, SEVENTEEN held their “Going Seventeen” showcase at the Blue Square Concert Hall in Seoul. The hall filled with reporters from all over to get the first glimpse of the boys’ new music and performances. The audience was well introduced to the 3rd mini-album through a series of interviews, music performances and the long awaited photo time. As the rapidly rising K-Pop stars, SEVENTEEN didn’t fail in impressing us with their astounding showmanship and entertaining talks.
To bring the CARATs closer to their SEVENTEEN oppas, we found the 11 things that can only be found at the “Going Seventeen” showcase!
SEVENTEEN’s “Going Seventeen” Showcase
Brought to you by your friends at Kpopmap.
1. SEVENTEEN DIAMONDS
The showcase stage was literally shining with jam packed visuals of the 13 boys. The group all coordinated together in a dress down suit with red and green color points fit for the upcoming Christmas season. During the photo time, the boys had a special surprise for the CARATs as they revealed a secret diamond hidden inside their jackets! We can tell the boys always keep their fans close to heart.
2. SEVENTEEN HIP HOPPERS
The hip hop team – S.Coups, MinGyu, Vernon and WonWoo – came out to pose by themselves. Starting from WonWoo to S. Coups, all three boys leaned their heads towards the left, where the tall and handsome MinGyu stood to support his members. The pose was a celebratory reference to their team’s song “Lean”, which is featured on the new album. Sweet, witty and absolutely talented – the hip hop team has it all!
3. SEVENTEEN BOOMBOOM
For their first performance stage, the boys put on their newest title track, ‘BOOMBOOM’ – and it was just magic. The stage was filled to the brim with the dazzling performance by the SEVENTEEN boys. The members all had on their game face with amusing, yet charismatic, expressions even while they were dancing on the side. They’re already known to have excellent performance manners, but to actually see them live is a whole another story. Through the whole song, SEVENTEEN had our hearts going like boom-boom-boom-boom!
4. SEVENTEEN GROOVE
The boys are back at it again! When you think of SEVENTEEN, you can’t leave out the group’s stunning choreography style. The boys are constantly on the move, and just as well for their ‘BOOMBOOM’ choreography! They utilize their diamond hidden jackets perfectly to represent their signature ‘BOOM BOOM’ routine. With 13 members, you’d think the positions would tend to stay in the same formations, but SEVENTEEN defies the odds by using the entirety of the stage to their advantage. Through innovative formations, the group flawlessly expressed their witty creativity. Add in the fact that they’re all on the same sync from start to finish, and you’ve got the makings of a globally renown K-Pop group on the rise!
5. SEVENTEEN SEUNGKWAN
SeungKwan is without a doubt the mood maker of the group. Although many of the boys were probably shivering with nerves on the inside, the clever member helped brighten the mood by throwing in his humorous jokes. What’s even more fascinating is that SeungKwan’s just funny even when he doesn’t try to be. He was describing how he lost so much for the comeback when he dissed himself by saying that he felt bad that he was the only member who kept getting chubbier and chubbier. Through their naturally calorie burning choreography, personal fitness training and portion control, SeungKwan lost a whopping 7 kg!
6. SEVENTEEN PRODUCER
Every one of the members took one part or another in creating their new return. Through composing, choreographing, and diverse preparation, the boys poured their hearts and souls into their 3rd mini-album. Among the 13 members, Woozi has definitely put in a lot towards the album. Considering that they’re currently on the rise with higher and higher expectations, the shortest member constantly felt the pressure and had draft after draft of their potential songs on repeat. Whether he was on the move, in the studio or having a down time at their dorm, he expressed how he worked hard to find that signature SEVENTEEN sound in their new music – and we think he definitely succeeded!
7. SEVENTEEN ALBUMS
The new album has a surprising twist to the comeback! There are 3 different versions of “Going Seventeen” – Make a Wish, Make it Happen and Make it Seventeen. Each album holds a special meaning for the group as they expressed how the three albums represents a special keyword. In his sexy voice, Vernon repeated the album titles in English and explained their meanings. Make a Wish stands for their dreams that they’ve held since their trainee days. Make it Happen stands for their journey so far, and Make it Seventeen represents their desire to solidify their style of music to last a lifetime.
8. SEVENTEEN CARATS
With 3 different versions of the album, you’d think the album making process is a delicate one – and it is! However, S. Coups mentioned that whenever the boys prepare for another album, they always have one thing and one thing in the center of their mind. That’s the CARATS. He wishes that each album that they produce will reflect their deep gratitude and love for their fans, and the ears of the world.
9. SEVENTEEN CHEERS
We can all tell that SEVENTEEN is a group that is constantly changing and improving. On that note, SeungKwan revealed a special inside episode. Before the team goes on stage, Hoshi always has a specific cheer that they chant together to rile themselves up. However, the cheer has changed! Hoshi explained that he always wants to be a step above change, so he changed the cheer phrase to “Let’s do it, boomboom!” It perfectly embodies the group’s new album as well as their heart thumping performances!
10. SEVENTEEN FLOWERS
The couch is back! SEVENTEEN’s signature couch is back, but this time it decorates the stage for not a dance song, but a ballad song. To close off their showcase, the boys performed their new sub-track, ‘Smile Flower’. Showered in the sweetest melody, the 13 boys sang their hearts out to their everlasting loves. SEVENTEEN are kings at performances, but they’re also the kings of expressing such beautiful emotions in such beautiful vocals. An extra treat for the fans! The hip hop team members sing rather than rap, and we’ve never heard more striking vocals!
11. SEVENTEEN GOING AND GOING
SEVENTEEN’s come a long way since their pre-debut days. Still, with increasing popularity comes increasing standards of expectation. The boys explained that although they may have decent records and incredible success on the music charts, they’re always critical of themselves. In order to grow and continue improving themselves to be the best that they can be, they believe that when others shower them with praise, they need to focus and realize their points of improvement. The professional mindsets of the boys, who are still young in age, always floor us. Congrats on your epic comeback, SEVENTEEN!
