36 K-Dramas Of 2024 Based On Webtoon - Announced

At Kpopmap, we keep listing all the dramas and web dramas based on webtoon that will be produced. After 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 dramas based on webtoon, it is time for 2024! In previous years, lots of dramas were announced to be based on webtoons but have yet to confirm cast and production schedule.

The list is divided into TWO PARTS, the confirmed dramas based on webtoon for 2024 and the webtoons announced to be adapted in dramas sometime soon but with no confirmation of broadcast (this one).

Note: the dramas might air in 2024 or later according to the production plan and progress. We often update the two lists, don’t forget to bookmark us for updates. 

 

1. “Art of Girls” / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The female-centered webtoon "Art of Girls" (in Korean "썅년의 미학") by Min SeYoung is announced to be adapted into a web drama. It is a four-cut story that depicts the uncomfortable moments you encounter while living as a woman in Korea.

The drama will be produced by Merry Christmas production. More are to be announced.

2. "Dead Man's Letter" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The mystery webtoon "Dead Man's Letter" (in Korean "망자의 서") by GAR2 is announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of a Ju HaNa who asked her childhood friend Do WooRi to marry her and to disguise himself as dead. They were planning to flee the country after they obtained the insurance money, but things went awry. WooRi ends up getting killed, and HaNa is charged with murder.

The drama will air on KBS. The exact schedule and casting are yet to be released.

3. “Something About Us” / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

“Something About Us” (in Korean "우리사이느은") is a webtoon dealing with men and women in their twenties worrying about love and friendship. The drama was announced to be produced in 2018 but nothing much has changed since then.

Seo KangJoon was in talks for a while but the drama did not come true. No channel has taken on the project.

4. "The Remarried Empress"  / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "The Remarried Empress" (in Korean "재혼 황후") by AlPaTaReuTeu and SoomPool was announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the romance story of the perfect empress of the East Empire named Nabie. The Emperor was not planning to make her an Empress so she divorces him and decides to be an Empress elsewhere.

Before becoming a webtoon, the drama was a web novel by RoPhan. The drama will be produced in collaboration with the production company Studio N. More is to be confirmed.

5. "A Bitch and a Punk" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "A Bitch and a Punk" also called "YeonNom" (in Korean "연놈") will be adapted into a drama. It is a comedy romance school webtoon. The boy to whom she could not say "don't go" and "I love you" appears in front of her after 3 years. It tells the story of a boy and a girl that are facing the time spent together. Through their love story, high school students grew through their love.

The webtoon started back in 2015. Until now, it has accumulated 1.3 billion views and has been in the top webtoons for more than 160 weeks.

The drama was announced to be produced in 2019. The casting is yet to be released.

6. "Favorite Part" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Favorite Part" (in Korean "좋아하는 부분") is a romance. It will be adapted into a drama. It tells the struggling romance of a woman name So WooJoo, who has particular tastes in men.

The drama was announced to be produced in 2019. The casting is yet to be released.

7. "Horror and Romance"/ Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Horror and Romance" (in Korean "호러와 로맨스") is also announced to be adapted. It tells the romance between a writer of horror stories who wants to know what love is, and a writer of romance, who hates horror stories.

The drama was announced to be produced in 2019. The casting is yet to be released.

8. "Deceased's Soul" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The mystery fantasy webtoon on the subject of death "Deceased's Soul" (in Korean "고인의 명복") written by Jo JuHui is announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of the son of a hospital director and the daughter of a funeral hall owner who grew up together. One wants to turn the spirit back to the body and one wants to guide the spirit to the after-world.

The drama will be produced in collaboration with the production company Studio N.

9. "So You" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The thriller webtoon "So You" (in Korean "소유") by Han was announced to be adapted into a drama. It is a catastrophe thriller with desire, deficiency, and obsession.

Director Bang EunJin ("Way Back Home", "Salut D'Amour", "Method") will be in charge. The drama is to air on OCN. No date or cast is released yet.

10. "Dear X"  / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Dear X" (in Korean "친애하는 X") by Ban JiWoon was announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of the downfall of the nation's top actress Baek AhJin and her hidden face.

The casting and broadcasting dates are yet to be released. The director Yoo Ha is in charge.

11. "Revenge is Ours" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Revenge is Ours" (in Korean "복수는 우리의 것) also called "Hell Hath No Fury" by Nam YooHyun and DdaelKkam was announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of three women who take revenge on their ex-boyfriend who was actually a married man.

PF company is in charge of the project. There is no schedule or actors cast yet.

12. "A Man's Man" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "A Man's Man" (official English title) (in Korean "상남자", literal translation "Real Man") by Kim TaeKoong and Dogado is announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of an ordinary office worker who worked hard and rose to the top of a famous company by looking only at success. In return for his desire for success, he lost all his loved ones.

Studio N is in charge of the adaptation. The webtoon is based on the novel by Kim TaeKoong of the same title. No cast was released yet.

13. "CELL" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "CELL" (in Korean "셀") by Kang HyungKyu will be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of a high student from the upper class whose life completely changed when his parents' business went bankrupt. He then starts to gain special abilities making him desire material success.

Take One Studio is in charge of the adaptation. No cast was released yet.

14. "Gorae Byul - The Gyeongseong Mermaid" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The popular historical romance webtoon "Gorae Byul - The Gyeongseong Mermaid" (in Korean "고래별") by Na YoonHee will be adapted into a drama. The webtoon is set in the independent movements during the Japanese colonial era. The lead character SuA is a servant in a pro-Japanese household. On the beach, she meets EuiHyeon who jumped into the sea after being shot by the Japanese police. This webtoon is a reinterpretation of "The Little Mermaid" with Korean sensibility.

15. "Now I'm Taking A Break From Dating" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The romance webtoon "Now I'm Taking A Break From Dating" (in Korean "지금은 연애를 쉽니다") by Yoo HyunSuk will be adapted into a drama. The story revolves around two young individuals who used to be schoolmates, each going through rough patches in their lives in terms of love, bumping into each other, and unlearning their trauma through getting to know each other's sincere feelings.

Jaedam Media is in charge of the adaptation. No cast was released yet.

16. "Summer Solstice Point" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The adult webtoon "Summer Solstice Point" (in Korean "하지점") by YuJu was announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of SeoHa, a divorced woman running a coffee shop, who starts to have strange feelings for the 20-year-old part-timer named JiHoo.

Jaedam Media is in charge of the adaptation. No cast was released yet.

17. "Designer" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Designer" (in Korean "디자이너") by Hatzling was announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of Eugene, a middle school judo player whose life has been ruined by the drug administration. He became a "designer" who manufactures doping-related drugs to avenge those who destroyed his life.

18. "Secret Relationship" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The BL webtoon "Secret Relationship" (in Korean "비밀 사이") by McQueen STUDIO is announced to be adapted into a drama. Here is the summary: DaOn is a smart, resourceful, and hardworking employee, trying to overcome his poverty. His cheap ways get on the nerves of his co-worker SeongHyun who hates him. After a particular incident with his poor parents, DaOn gets closer to SeongHyun while trying to settle his feelings for his previous tutor, JaeMin. With emotions all mixed up and all the secrets, what will be DaOn's fate?

19. "A Girl That He Knows" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The romance fantasy webtoon "A Girl That He Knows" (in Korean "아는 여자애") by Honeybee is announced to be adapted into a drama. Here is the summary: HaYoung suddenly returned to high school one day. Can she achieve her first love if she is given another chance? It is destiny for her, and she is just "a girl that he knows".

The casting is not released yet and the web drama by Playlist studio will be released in 2022.

The webtoon "Artists" (in Korean "아티스트") by Ma YoungSik is announced to be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of three childhood friends who are living a non-mainstream life due to repeated failures. One day suddenly, one of them achieves a lot of success.

The drama will have an archive form with hyperrealism.

21. "Street Food Apocalypse" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Street Food Apocalypse (in Korean "노점묵시록") by BaekBong was announced to be adapted into a drama. The webtoon is about a street food war, where the protagonists visit different street food stalls around the country to challenge them.

Stuido 329 will be producing the drama. The casting is not yet released.

22. "The 26th Murder" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "The 26th Murder" (in Korean "26번째 살인") by Abidi Inoue and Suo was announced to be adapted into a drama. The webtoon is a crime thriller that tells the story of Jang PilDoo, a psychopathic serial killer who was caught after committing a heinous crime. He loses all his memories due to a concussion one day before his scheduled execution.

Realize Pictures and Neo Story will collaborate in the production of the drama. The casting is not yet released.

23. "Time Share House" / Schedule status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "Time Share House" (in Korean "타임셰어하우스") by Hong GilDong and Jo JooHee will be adapted into a drama. It tells the story of DoAh who got a job in 2018 and got kicked out of her house for several reasons. She started to live in a strange share house for 100,000 KRW a month for the rent and deal with extraordinary cases.

Kakao Entertainment's baseball webtoon "Gift" (in Korean "기프트") was announced to be made into a drama. The webtoon by Jeonglrilir is about a baseball coach named MinYong, who has the supernatural ability to see a player's skill just by looking at them, and the high school players who received his coaching.

25. "She's My Type" / Schedule Status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "She's My Type" (in Korean "취향저격 그녀") by Rose Ong will be adapted into a drama. "She's My Type" is story about love, friendship, and growth of Ha HaeDam, a college freshman who was made fun of for her unique makeup and fashion. One day, she finds out that her neighbor is her sunbae, ChanYeol, who actually lives a double life as a "beauty influencer". She receives coaching from him and becomes a style "sniper", turning the campus upside down. She receives coaching in exchange of keeping his secret.

The webtoon "Nobleman" (in Korean "귀인") by Jeong YeonSik will be produced into a drama by Unsang Media. The webtoon is based on an actual incident called, "Fake Lee KangSeok Incident", which occurred in 1957. In the webtoon, the main character Yang ChunSik pretends to be Lee KangSeok, who is a man of power.

The webtoon "Manager Kim" (in Korean "김부장") by Park TaeJun will be produced into a drama. This webtoon is about the main character Manager Kim, who quit his position as a special agent only for his daughter MinJi and chose mediocrity. Then one day, MinJi disappears without a sound rumor, and Kim even turns the state that monitors him into an enemy and starts looking for his daughter.

The webtoon "The Story Of Seoul HyeopGaek" (in Korean "서울 협객전") by Shin YoungWoo will be produced into a drama. It is a modern-day martial arts cartoon that tells the story of JangGong, an ordinary son of a poor family living in Seoul, and Dang MuYong, a Chinese martial arts master who has committed evil acts in the past and moved to the center of Seoul. The cartoon revolves around the chemistry between the two main characters and incorporates comedic elements, all set in the heart of Seoul.

The popular webtoon "Blue Gaslighting," created by WooJoo BomBom and illustrated by JINQ, was announced to be adapted into a K-Drama. "Blue Gaslighting" narrates a complex tangle of connections among a man and two women, where what one sees as a way out, another views as a lifeline. The central figures include Yoo Ina, a social media influencer, Yoon KyungWon, the head of a talent agency bent on commanding her, and Lee SooIn, an aspiring actress deliberately drawn into their intricate interplay.

The webtoon "Chetamja" written by ByungJang and illustrated by HaeSung is reported to be produced into a drama. The drama is based on the special force intelligence unit under King SeJeong during the Joseon Dynasty that keeps the Jurchen tribe in check.

The drama tells the tale that unfolds within the walls of Jangagwon, a government institution responsible for royal music and dance in the palace. It follows the thrilling adventures and love story of Myung YeonJoo, a person of humble origins with an exceptional ear for music. The webtoon "Let Me Do It, Princess" (in Korean "저로 하시죠, 공주마마") by SWiMing, tells the story of two woman, a fake princess and a real princess. Both have to work together to select a groom for the princess among four scholars. But not only do the scholars have to impress the princess, they also have to tell apart the fake one from the real one.

36. "God's Butler" / Schedule Status: Unconfirmed

The webtoon "God's Butler" (in Korean "신의 집사") by Cho JooHee, is a fantastical romance set in the modern era. Both human and immortal creatures live together, and EunHwa, a regular student, is forced to become the butler of an immortal named HyunMu. She hardly gets used to her butler life, yet she has to deal with other immortals' attack on HyunMu. Why are they attacking and what is their secret? This story full of mystery will soon be adapted on screen.
