2NE1 will say their goodbyes with their last song ‘GOOD BYE’.
On 6th, YG Entertainment stated that 2NE1 will be saying goodbyes to their fans through the song ‘GOOD BYE’ that will be released on 21st.
YG stated “Without Gong Minzy, three members (CL, Sandara Park, Park Bom) participated in the recording and the music video filming recently. Members will be saying the goodbyes to their fans that they did not get to say because of the sudden disbandment.”
And the meaningfulness of this album increased as the behind story of this song has become known. According to what Starnews has reported, ‘GOOD BYE’ was going to be a song in CL’s American album.
One source said, “When 2NE1’s disbandment was decided, CL wrote a song in Korean about how sad she felt about it. She wrote this during the preparation for an American album, and it was thought of as a song to go in that album so there were no plans to release it in Korea.”
But afterwards, CL and YG entertainment judged that this song could comfort the fans who are sad over 2NE1’s disbandment, and decided to have this song as 2NE1’s last song. They contacted Sandara Park and Park Bom afterwards, and recently recorded the song and filmed the music video.
‘GOOD BYE’ was worked on with foreign musicians, J Gramm and Rook Monroe, and Rook Monroe is known for his participation in composition of pop star Rihanna’s song ‘Desperado’. The song was just that meaningful to CL. But CL decided to release this song as a group instead of as a solo song, and fans all over the world will be able to listen to 2NE1’s final song on 21st.
