Some of the biggest names in K-Pop actually had their beginnings in SM Entertainment as trainees.

And it’s quite surprising since we’re so accustomed and used to their image and character fitting in with the vibes of their respective affiliated agencies.

You can check out three huge K-Pop stars who actually trained in SM Entertainment before becoming the superstars they are today.

G-Dragon (BIGBANG)

Can you imagine G-Dragon as an SM idol? If you’re like us, it’s probably difficult since he has such a YG-ness about him. In fact, we can’t really decide if it’s YG that molded him or if he molded YG Entertainment’s characteristics. He caught Lee SooMan’s attention when he participated in a dance competition. He trained in SM for around five years, but later found a different calling as he discovered hip-hop music.

Park JiHoon (Former Wanna One)

Former Wanna One member Park JiHoon was actually a former trainee of both SM and Fantagio. It is highly likely that Park JiHoon would have gone on to become an NCT member if he stayed in SM.

The information was revealed back when Produce 101 season 2 was just beginning.

Lee HyoRi

Lee HyoRi joined SM back in 1999, a time period where SM was preparing to debut a new girl group. However, she left the agency due to personal reasons. Had she stayed, many have stated that she might have debuted with S.E.S.
