3 Reasons To Look Forward To The New BL Drama "Peach Of Time"

"Peach Of Time" is a 10-episode Korean BL drama that tells the supernatural story of a ghost who is unable to escape the human realm due to a grudge. The ghost character, YoonOh, is played by Choi JaeHyun whom you may remember from his role as Girls' Generation SooYoung’s younger brother in the popular 2020 K-Drama "Run On." He ends up falling in love with a human called Peach, who is played by Thai actor Jimmy (Karn Kritsanaphan). Our third main role, Mario, is also played by a Thai actor named Tommy (Sittichok Pueakpoolpol). His role has not been released yet.

The drama will be released through a streaming service and shown overseas first, then in Korea.

Although there’s not a lot of information available about this drama, here are 3 reasons to look forward to watching it.

1. The multinational cast and crew had so much fun producing it

The incredible thing about this drama is that two of the main roles are played by actors from one of the countries best known for BL dramas, Thailand. The cast includes Jimmy and Tommy from the 2020 Thai BL drama "Why R U?" where they played a romantic couple and earned themselves the ship name Mii2. During the filming, their Korean fans even hired a coffee truck for the cast and crew to enjoy on behalf of their ship.

It should be interesting to see how the Korean and Thai acting styles come together under the guidance of a Korean production company. It seems that the cast and crew really enjoyed working with the Thai actors, taking selfies and pictures together at every opportunity. They seemed like a little family over the duration of the production. Aplan International even tweeted thanking the actors, staff, and fans for their support. They mentioned that it was an honor to be the first Korean company to film with Thai actors and expressed an interest in working with more Thai actors on projects in the future.

2. Jimmy and Tommy’s new acting dynamic

As mentioned before, Jimmy and Tommy’s characters are famous as a couple from their previous BL drama together. This has created most of the buzz around their roles in “Peach of Time” because their characters were revealed to not be romantically involved. Fans are looking forward to their new dynamic and seeing how the romantic plot with YoonOh and Peach will play out.

Although the pair is not a couple in this K-Drama, they had a blast exploring Korea together off-camera. They recorded the smallest moments from buying a cold drink (only to realize the weather is too cold for it), to riding crystal cabin cable cars across the sea and freaking out about falling into the water. With the hashtag #Mii2InKorea trending on Twitter, fans could easily follow and gush about their adventures. If they had so much fun off-camera, imagine how much fun they'll have on camera.

3. Potential storylines

Based on the captioned posts made by the official “Peach of Time” Twitter account, many fans have been speculating the potential storylines that could take place in the drama. The below picture caption mentioned the naming of a store and asked the characters if they like the new store name. Could it be a café opening or a retail store? What do you think?

Another guess involves a B-story with the character Mario. It is unclear what exactly his role in the drama is, but he seems mysterious and appears in most behind-the-scenes photos in tailored suits. This has some netizens speculating that he is a sort of Grim Reaper or angel of death. We’ll have to wait for more media releases to see if that’s true.
