The eagerly awaited 10-episode Netflix K-Drama “Nevertheless,” also known as “I Know But,” is finally here! It stars two of Korea’s hottest actors of the moment and has netizens buzzing about the storyline. In fact, it is one of the webtoons that received so much attention that it deserved a live-action adaptation.

Song Kang plays Park JaeEon, who is over dating but still looking to have a romantic connection and some fun. His attention is hard to grab but he’s accessible and willing to mingle. Of course, he feels unfulfilled until he meets our female lead. Han SoHee plays Yoo NaBi, who is also looking to date someone, but not sure if she believes in love. Following a traumatic relationship, she tries to focus on other aspects of life again but gets shaken by handsome Park JaeEon.

Based on the first episode released on Jun. 19, here are our reasons for you to add “Nevertheless,” to your Netflix agenda!

        1. Realistic story and unfiltered subject matter

The storyline is very authentic and relatable. This drama feels like a story that is more likely to happen in real life. Yoo NaBi experiences a relationship that confuses her idea of love. She deals with a possessive and jealous partner, who wants to be put first but does not spare her feelings an extra thought. She is confused about the process of letting go and then finds herself entranced by Park JaeEon. However, she cannot gauge his level of interest which leads to a new type of confusion which ultimately leads to irresistible attraction. Simultaneously, her peers are also navigating the unspoken rules of dating and the new methods of going about it.

"Nevertheless," speaks about topics that would be taboo in most romantic K-Dramas with university student protagonists. Most K-Dramas are clean-cut and often show a filtered side to what is supposed to be a realistic story. This drama openly portrays matters such as smoking, sexuality, and other subjects that people of that age may be dealing with. "Nevertheless," will actually have episodes that are rated 19+ due to their explicit nature. Some shocked netizens have compared the show to a university version of famous K-Drama, "The World of the Married," that Han SoHee starred in as well. The reason for this is because it will show a hyper-real and honest portrayal of the romance of a couple in their 20s.

        2. Lead visuals and chemistry

        JTBC

There is a reason that Song Kang (affectionately nicknamed 'The Prince of Netflix') and Han SoHee are some of the most booked and busy actors of the moment. They are both gorgeous, extremely talented actors and have the power to pull you into any role that they choose. Han SoHee charms her viewers with her angelic visuals and Song Kang commands his viewers' hearts with his handsome face. Not only are the actors attractive, but their chemistry within their roles is not a joke. When Yoo NaBi and Park JaeEon exchange a gaze, they look like magnets drawn to each other. Netizens have been obsessing over how good they look together and how natural their attraction to each other seems.

Even their behind-the-scenes chemistry is undeniable. Not only is it fun to watch them off-screen, but their acting makes us want to fast-forward the week for the next episode.

        3. Beautiful OST

Fans of the new K-Drama, "Nevertheless," are already raving about the original soundtrack and we have to agree. It features some beautiful melodies and groovy love songs that just bring the whole drama together. So far, the drama features the following songs: 'We're Already (우린 이미)' by KIMMUSEUM, 'Heavy Heart' by Rio, 'Butterfly' by J.UNA (제이유나), 'Love Me Like That' by Sam Kim, '알고있지만 (I Know But) by Night Off, and 'So Tender' by SAY SUE ME (세이수미).

'We're Already' by KIMMUSEUM has officially been released as part one of the soundtrack, on YouTube. We can't wait for the parts to come.

This drama navigates the modern dating world and shows it to us on screen through two gifted actors. If the first episode already has us feeling a type of way, you can only imagine what the other nine will do. Are you looking forward to the rest of the drama? What was your favorite part of the first episode?
