3 Worst K-Pop Idol Actors Chosen By South Korean Journalists
Often times, we’ll see K-Pop idols branching their celebrity career out into TV and film. And in South Korea, acting is a way for idols to prolong their career as well.
But just because it is an option that they are able to take advantage of doesn’t necessarily mean that the public agree with their decision. After all, taking on a role of a certain character on screen is a whole different story and requires different skills than performing on stage while singing and dancing.
While there are K-Pop idols who are able to do both quite well, there are some that have been shamed by journalists due to their undesirable acting skills.
You can check them out below!
While this particular journalist stated that she really likes YunHo from SM Entertainment idol group TVXQ, she stated that he should focus on his idol career and give up acting. In fact, the K-Pop idol has been savagely criticized by South Korean netizens for his acting skills.
The journalist felt that one of the problems was that he was the main character all the time.
She also added that despite criticism voiced by the South Korean viewers, there were too many people around him not telling him the reality of things and the actual feedback he was receiving.
She pointed out that people close to him within the management and other industry professionals such as producers try to appeal to him by complimenting him on his acting.
Another journalist picked out Kim HyunJoong for one of the worst idol actors. In South Korea, there is a term called ‘foot acting’, meaning acting without any skills. Besides walking, running, and kicking, there’s not much you can do well with your foot, right?
Kim HyunJoong has always been nominated for best ‘foot acting’ idols time after time.
The former Wonder Girls is also another K-Pop idol South Korea wishes would stop acting. In fact, she opened up on several interviews about her struggling with the transition to acting. But we don’t think that she should be judged so harshly as she explained once that she was instructed to act badly on purpose.
