1. ZEROBASEONE’s Park GunWook
ZEROBASEONE’s Park GunWook drew lots of attention among K-Pop fans and impressed all the contestants and star masters during the Star Level Test in “Boys Planet” with his impressive physique and powerful dance by covering VERIVERY’s ‘G.B.T.B’ and SEVENTEEN’s ‘HOT’. In the later episodes, he also showcased his rap skills in ‘Tom Boy’ and ‘En Garde’.
Apart from having strong dancing and rapping skills, GunWook is also an excellent vocalist, and his singing voice is softer and higher than when he sings or talks. GunWook showcased his vocalist side by performing DEAN’s ‘What 2 do’ in “STARRY CLUB”, and his sweet voice is truly soothing to listen to. One of the vocal star masters Im HanByul even said that his vocal skills improved a lot after listening to his cover!
2. CLOSE YOUR EYES’ Jeon MinWook
CLOSE YOUR EYES’ leader Jeon MinWook already amassed a huge following before “PROJECT 7” was officially broadcast due to his captivating visual that resembles a mix of TXT’s YeonJun and ZEROBASEONE’s Kim JiWoong. But apart from his attractive appearance, what made him stand out from the other contestants was his outstanding rapping skills. In the “Zero Setting” competition round in “PROJECT 7”, MinWook covered SuperM’s ‘Jopping’, where he showcased his dynamic rap with precise delivery while dancing to the intense choreography.
After debuting as a member of CLOSE YOUR EYES, MinWook became the main rapper of the group. However, he surprisingly took up vocal parts alongside rap lines in the debut song ‘All My Poetry’. MinWook’s soulful and soothing vocals bring out the dreamy vibes of the song and reveal a gentle side of him which is completely different from the tough image he showed in “PROJECT 7”.
3. izna’s Ryu SaRang
izna’s Ryu SaRang already showed her all-rounder quality while competing in “I-LAND 2:N/α”. She was the only contestant who tried out main vocal, main rapper, and main dancer positions in the program. During the “Main Position Test”, SaRang competed in the all-rounder unit, where she showcased her sharp dance with on-point facial expressions and clean vocals in ‘4 Walls’ performance.
4. BABYMONSTER’s Asa
BABYMONSTER’s Asa got accepted to YG Entertainment with her impressive hip-hop dance. Apart from having accumulated strong dancing skills from taking classes from the dance academy back in Japan, Asa is very hardworking and often strives for perfection during dance practices. YG dance trainer LeeJung also praised her dancing skills and proactive attitude, saying that she always asks questions during training, this enables her to pick up dancing skills quicker than her peers.
Apart from possessing outstanding dancing skills, one of Asa’s most signature talents is her fast rap. Her ‘Godzilla’ cover during YG monthly evaluation went viral even before her debut, in which she slayed the challenging rap of the song. YG’s Chief Executive Producer Yang HyunSuk commented that the rhythm of Asa’s rap is very accurate. After debuting as a member of BABYMONSTER, Asa continued to showcase her jaw-dropping rapping skills. She took up the fast rap part in the group’s first song ‘Batter Up’, where she impressed the K-Pop fandom once again with her powerful rap.
