"Dear X Who Doesn't Love Me" is the story about Seo HeeSo, a college student who is an aspiring lyricist. She discovers a magical lyric-writing book that can make anyone fall in love with her and soon she has a line of men around her. With so many suitors, will HeeSoo be able to handle the consequences?

1. The Opening Dream Sequence

The drama opens with a dream sequence. HeeSoo (Han JiHyo) dreams of being with her crush, KangWook (ATO6's HyeonWu). The scenario starts with the dialogue "When is the right time to confess?". HeeSoo and KangWook switch from one scenario to the other. At first, they look out of the train and then step out into the snow, then they are on the rooftop and lastly, the two are on the bed. The three scenes combine all the ideal romantic scenarios that make one's heart flutter.

The beautiful cinematography and the soft music in the background make it all even more enchanting. Even though the moment does not last long, as soon as he confesses, KangWook starts coughing out blood. Fortunately, it was all just a dream.

2. Kim KangWook's Public Confession For HeeSoo

As mentioned before, "Dear X Who Doesn't Love Me" starts with a dream sequence where HeeSoo is with KangWook. KangWook is her senior in the song-writing club she was a part of. She had a crush for a long time. In fact, every girl in the college did. He treats girls sweetly, and often acts in a way that can be misleading. HeeSoo too gets the wrong idea that he might like him, so she decides to confess, but before she can, she finds out that he was with another member of the club.

Heartbroken, she writes down in the magical lyrical book about the story she wished they had. The next day at the concert, miraculously, KangWook sings the same song that she wrote- even though she had not submitted it or showed it to anyone. By the end of the song, he confesses that he likes her and asks her out.

Though viewers knew that it was all because of the book, the scene was still just as impactful. The way he sweetly kisses her head before everyone. The scene seemed like a victory for our girl, who wanted nothing but to be loved.

3. The Time HeeSoo Helps SiHo Heal

In episode 3, we get to find out about SiHo (NCT's DoYoung) and HeeSoo's first meeting. SiHo was a victim of bullying in his previous school, so he changed schools, but the trauma and fear stayed with him. He was extremely shy and nervous as he introduced him to the class. When they all suddenly crowded him around, HeeSoo told them to give him some space.

Later in the episode, he bumps into one of the students and that triggers memories of the past. SiHo experiences a panic attack so he runs to a nearby empty class. It is HeeSoo who finds him there and comforts him. Just like that, she became his safe person and SiHo was able to move on from his past and live his life as a high school student.

4. When SiHo Steps In To Protect HeeSoo

After her breakup with KangWook, HeeSoo goes on a dating spree. She uses the book to make men fall in love with her, though it would last only for a month. In order to make SiHo believe her, she makes Park JoonYoung fall for her. He is a popular freshman in the Literature Department. He is the only one who doesn't breakup with her. When a month of them being together passes away, soon she realizes that he was only using her for personal needs.

After knowing the truth, she dumps him but JoonYoung posts anonymously, spreading rumors about how she went out with every guy and writing lyrics about it. Even though SiHo and HeeSoo stopped talking before the incident, SiHo calls out to her when she was stuck among all the students that whispered and gossiped about her.

He even warns JoonYoung that he will sue him for it before running after HeeSoo. He comforts her, just like she did back in the days when he felt suffocated in high school.
