4th Generation Male Idols That Will Be Best Suited For A Role In A Rom-Com Drama

The romantic comedy genre will always be a favorite for many fans and over the years, we have seen many of our favorite idols take up roles in various romantic comedies, from ASTRO's Cha EunWoo and Yoon SanHa to ZE:A's Park HyungSik and Yim SiWan, more than 1/2 of the SF9 members, 2PM's Lee JunHo, the list go on and on as many idols have portrayed various characters in this genre and delivered an amazing performance.

4th generation idols are slowly taking into the acting scene, with many starring in various web dramas and TV series, they are joining their predecessors by showing that their talents are not just limited to the stage alone.

While many have begun to get notable attention for their acting skills, others (as of the date of this article) might have not even picked up a script yet, however, we believe these idols will do exceptionally well if they star in a rom-com drama.

1. Stray Kids' Lee Know

He has the face and personality of an actor. There is a level of poise and charisma he always exudes that makes the camera always find him. While we are yet to see him in any acting role, from his various appearances on reality shows and Stray Kids' variety contents, it is clear that he is funny, smart, and knows how to play to the camera. And did we mention he is very handsome too? Traits that bode well with the acting scene.

An office romance drama will be the best for him. In a series where he stars as a smart and quiet intern whose witty comments from time to time shock the team members. He usually saves the day and gets his work done. His personality might be cold and distant but he is caring. He however has a massive crush on his coworker and despite his awkwardness, she also falls for him too.

2. TREASURE's JungHwan

With the web drama "The Mysterious Class" we saw a standout performance from TREASURE's JungHwan who played his role with so much brilliance and evoked a ton of emotions in his viewers. Showing he has the talents of an actor, a high teen rom-com would be another stepping stone for him. In a scenario where he plays the role of a bad boy, who everyone fears and respects. He is not a bully but he is a good fighter and his commanding presence and smartness make people often quiet every time he walks into class.

A new classmate however comes to shake up his heart as he begins to develop strong feelings towards them. This series might not solely revolve around him but his infusion in it plays the much-needed arc that leads to the climactic moment in the series.

3. DRIPPIN's Cha JunHo

He is tall, handsome, smart, and funny, Cha JunHo has shown that he is clearly K-Drama material and a rom-com will be the perfect debut genre for the idol. A supporting role either in a web drama or TV series, where he plays the character of a high school student who is known for his funny quips and wits, he often plays pranks on others and while he is annoying, they simply cannot do without him as he is the crucial member of the team.

Fans need him to star in K-Dramas and we do also! He has the striking visuals that are similar to that of an actor and suit any role, most especially in a rom-com series.
He is smart, witty, and intuitive, with a bright and outgoing personality. A character where he plays a campus student who is smart and handsome but with a cold personality will be an amazing fit. Despite his cold exterior, he has a warm heart and craves the affection of people around him.

He soon begins to see his walls crack when he finds himself having a crush on a classmate, someone who has always subtly tried to take care of him. When he finally notices, it feels like his world clicks and despite the complications, both internal and external that ensue, he fights for his true happiness. While this character type has been used so many times, we believe with InTak's personality and charm, he could bring something different to this type of character.

5. TXT's SooBin

The fact that TXT's SooBin is yet to pick up a drama script needs is quite baffling as the idol has shown amazing traits and qualities that will make him a very interesting actor. Elegant, poised, intriguing, smart, handsome, and witty, in lesser words, he simply has the aura and charm affiliated with many actors today. While we do not yet know why he hasn't starred in a drama yet, we believe his persona would fit a rom-com series perfectly.

In this series, he could play the lead role, of a smart business manager who comes in to save a dying business. Despite having various conflicts with its CEO, we see their hate turn into attraction as they both work together to ensure the survival of the business.
