5 Horror K-Dramas You Can Watch If You're Staying Home This Halloween

        OCN / tvN

The scariest thing about this Halloween is probably nothing but the pandemic itself. However, it cannot suppress the indomitable spirit of Halloween and the coming of the spooky season. Owing to the pandemic, a lot of the most beloved Halloween traditions might have to be put on hold, and in order to stay safe, the best option is to stay home.

If you're looking for some of the best horror K-Dramas to watch while you stay safe at home instead of going trick or treating, we've got the perfect list for you!

        1. "Strangers From Hell"

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSP__swZhL0&t=55s

Starring some of the most brilliant actors in the Korean entertainment industry: Im SiWan, Lee DongWook, Lee JeongEun, and more, this bone-chilling horror is simply unbeatable. Based on an original webtoon of the same name, this drama captures the very essence of fright and horrifying paranoia. At the same time, it delves deep into the darkness of human nature, making it all the more blood-curdling. In addition, Seo MoonJo, played by Lee DongWook, would make for the perfect Halloween costume too!

        2. "Goedam"

The episodic nature of this anthology of short horror stories is what makes this series special. If you're looking for something that doesn't require a considerable commitment of time but will still deliver the spook, "Goedam" would be your best bet. Let Korean urban legends take you down a spiral of horror in this bite-sized drama that will leave your thirst for thrill quenched.

        3. "Sweet Home"

This award-winning webtoon-based drama took over Netflix with its popularity at the time of its release and continues to be immensely well-received both in South Korea and overseas. Song Kang is inimitable as Cha HyunSoo alongside Go MinSi, Lee DoHyun, Lee SiYoung, Lee JinWook and more. As monsters born of human emotions take over the Earth, life becomes a constant battle not very different from the conflicts of normal life. "Sweet Home" is both a masterpiece of fantasy as well as a biting satire.

        4. "Kingdom"

Nothing compares to the brilliance of "Kingdom" when it comes to horror. Transforming the very reality of hunger and interpreting it through the lens of zombies in ancient Joseon, "Kingdom" is just as much of a political thriller as it is a horror drama. Once again, humans are deadlier than the actual monsters in this story which definitely gives viewers food for thought. "Kingdom" is a must-watch!

        5. "The Cursed"

Finally, one of the most underrated hidden gems among horror K-Dramas, "The Cursed" will make you scared to go to sleep at night. Starring Jeong JiSo, Sung DongIl, Uhm JiWon, Jo MinSu, Kwon Yul, and more, this drama will send chills down your spine. It lacks the theatricality of most horror dramas and instead, highlights a raw terror. From a teenage curser wreaking havoc and causing deaths through spells to the unraveling of a bigger evil looming above an IT conglomerate, this drama is an incredible watch.
