5 TXT Songs That Will Transport You To Another Dimension

BIGHIT MUSIC

Ever since the beginning of their career, TXT have created a memorable path in the Korean music industry, and this goes beyond doubt. In 2021, with their song ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’, they have established their own personal style and given us songs to love forever. Among them, there are certain songs that have this ability to transport you to another dimension- you know, lying in bed in a dim lit room past midnight, headphones on, just you and your music, and when you close your eyes it feels like you’re a part of another world, a world where nothing can hurt you, a world you’ve longed for. A world where you’re allowed to feel everything in all its extent. Here are those 5 songs that have made me dream, and I hope they make you feel what I feel as well:

1. ‘Farewell, Neverland’

‘Farewell, Neverland’ could not, and should not, if you ask me, be ranked lower on this list. This song has and gives this specific feeling, of lying in bed with only the stars out of your window sparing you some light in the room, reminiscing of everything you have been through in your life, realizing how much of it went to waste, how many things happened of you did in vain, you feel the need to cry, to scream because you realize how much of you you’re about you leave behind, and it has this bittersweet aftertaste of growing up. The references to Peter Pan, and the Neverland is an excellent addition, more like the cornerstone of this song. Peter Pan never grew up. He stayed a teenager for eternity, and Neverland is a shelter. When you’re forced to leave your Neverland and give yourself off to the real world, only then do you realize how much that dream land meant to you.

2. ‘Opening Sequence’

I don’t know if I agree with those who say that ‘Opening Sequence’ is a love song. It really depends. I feel like it is more targeted towards a lost part of oneself, to an idea, more than a person. It’s how you fall in love with the idea of a person and create a perfect life with them and depend your every loving thought on them, and then reality comes crashing down on you and you have to reach out to everything you can to save yourself and everything all this means to you. This song is a cry for help, because if all this fades away, you’re left with a hole in your heart where something you carried with you along the way used to be, and now all that’s left there is this void you can’t feel. This song is an introduction to free fall. ‘Opening Sequence’ keeps you trapped in your own head, but you chose to be there, and the destruction is rather sweet than painful.

3. ‘We Lost The Summer’

Oh, this song. ‘We Lost The Summer’ is a song I couldn’t really understand if it was placed in a timeline after a summer that went to waste or in the place of something that never got to be. This song is for people who loved summer because it brought them peace and they looked forward to it the whole year but something happened that hurt them, and summer didn’t feel the same this year. This song is for people who waited all summer to feel alive and it didn’t go exactly as planned, and now they’re left with a bitter aftertaste of what could’ve happened. It’s a constant “what if,” something you can’t easily get away from. It’s like you’re balancing in the multiverse, between things that happened and those that never did, things that passed you by and things you’ll never cross paths with.

4. ‘Lonely Boy (The tattoo on my ring finger)’

A broken promise. A long awaited nothing. An award-winning tragedy. The realization that the only thing you’re left with is your shadow, your thoughts, yourself. The realization that you only depend on people leaving to feel something. A broken heart who is still beating with no purpose anymore. A farewell with regretful feeling. A constant blaming someone for taking back everything they once gave, but also blaming oneself for believing in a happy ending. You’re lying in your bed at night, crying or questioning whether there are any tears left to cry, cursing any higher power for letting you give your everything to a shooting star.

5. ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’

At first, I didn’t know if I should actually include this song in my list. However, I now find it extremely suitable. ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’ is an introduction to a daydream. I don’t exactly know how to describe how this song affects me, but at the end of the day it leans more towards the daydreaming side. It is one of those songs that, when you listen to them, it’s like opening a window to a reality that is designed just for you. Amidst the heartbreaking lyrics and the theme of the song, there is this longing for love unable to describe, which is useless to even try and do so. There is just this raw, absolute, completely hopeless longing for love that has you swept off your feet for the sole reason that you are in love, anything that might be bringing along.
