5 Ways ONEUS’ LeeDo Captivates Fans With His Reverse Charm

One of the elements that make fans fall for K-Pop idols is their ‘reverse charm’, which means showing contrasting images on stage and off stage, or having a personality trait completely different from their appearance. Many K-Pop fans have created compilation videos showing the duality of their idols on social media, which make fans discover the unexpected charm of the idol and even attract them to join the fandom.

Talking about 4th gen K-Pop idols that best embody reverse charm, ONEUS’s LeeDo is certainly on the list. Having a hunky body figure and deep voice, LeeDo often showcases a masculine and sexy image on stage, and is regarded as the “hot guy” among pretty boys in ONEUS (SeoHo said “hot guy” after LeeDo introduced himself on “Aiki’s Thumbs Up”!). However, he is a sweet cutie-pie offstage who always shows his love to his members and TO MOON and has a soft vocal tone when he sings. 1. A Sweet Workout Maniac 

LeeDo is known as a workout enthusiast and his love for working out is on another level, that he would bring two 5kg dumbbells even when he travels abroad! Although LeeDo looks intimidating from his appearance and masculine figure, he always tries to show his love to TO MOON by responding to their requests. As many TO MOON asked LeeDo to show them his workout routine, he decided to record himself working out in one of the episodes of “ONEUS Do It”. LeeDo explained the rationale behind his workout routine in detail and showed the steps just like a personal trainer. At the end of the video, he even guided HwanWoong in doing arm workout and quickly covered his face when he was embarrassed to show his face. He is literally the sweetest personal trainer that every TO MOON wants! 

2. ONEUS Family’s Loving Daddy

Being the second eldest member in ONEUS, LeeDo plays the role of a dad in the group and he always takes good care of the members, and they sometimes call him “appa” (daddy). In “ONEUS Rest House”, LeeDo approached Xion to wake him up and playfully asked him if he wanted to reveal his body in front of the camera. While Xion responded by punching at him and said “Dad, I want to sleep more.” Their funny interaction looks exactly like how a father would wake up his son in a real family. 

As the best chef in ONEUS, LeeDo also made croffles for the group’s maknae line Xion and HwanWoong, and they even yelled at him, saying “Dad, I am hungry!” while he was cooking. Although LeeDo helplessly responded “You guys are crazy.” seeing his two mischievous members waiting for his croffles, you can tell that daddy LeeDo couldn’t hide his love towards his sons! 

3. Professional Babysitter 

Not only is LeeDo a caring father to his members, but he is also a professional babysitter of real babies. To the surprise of many K-Pop fans, LeeDo majored in Early Childhood Education at university as he loves kids. In “The Return of Superman”, LeeDo proved that he is a kindergarten teacher-to-be by feeding milk to the baby with a professional posture, and calmly comforting the baby when she cried. He also coached HwanWoong in feeding milk to the baby (at 4:08). LeeDo for sure has the potential to become the strongest kindergarten teacher on earth! 

4. A Tough Guy With A Soft Heart 

Don’t get scared of LeeDo’s masculine and tough appearance. In fact, he is a soft cutie-pie! In the last episode of “Road to Kingdom : Ace of Ace”, LeeDo was nominated as the ace of reverse charm. During the second round of the competition, HwanWoong was chosen to be one of the aces of ONEUS. He was so nervous and laid down on LeeDo’s laps after the performance, and LeeDo hugged him with his strong arms. Isn’t this sweet guy so boyfriend-coded? 

While LeeDo always tries to show a cool, manly image, he unconsciously reveals his cute personality. LeeDo claimed that he didn’t like refreshing concepts during one of the interviews in the program. However, the backstage camera captured him smiling and vibing to the music when he watched TEMPEST’s bright, carnival-concept performance. The huge contrast between his tough image and lovely action is really adorable that makes all TO MOON’s heart weak!

5. A Talented Performer With Versatile Voice 

Apart from having a contrasting image and personality, LeeDo is known for having completely different voices when he sings and raps. ‘LUNA’ live stage showcases his versatile voice, where he took up both vocal and rap parts in the song  (yes LeeDo is the main rapper of ONEUS but he is also an amazing vocalist!). LeeDo’s voice is deep and magnetic when he raps, but when he sings, his vocal tone becomes soft and angelic. It is hard to realize that the voices come from the same person if you close your eyes! Not to mention that his lovely smile during the ending fairy is super cute – How can one not fall for LeeDo’s talents and insane duality?
