1. DEBUT PLAY
To open the night, MBlossom opened up with a performance of their title track, 'Hazelnut (1-night)'. The boys were dressed in various grey jacket styles designed with decorative graphic patches. Besides their refreshing debut fashion, the boys were singing 100% live. All the while, they continued to dance their exciting choreography on point. Considering that it was the boys' first ever debut stage, the quality of the music and stage performance was very impressive.
2. PREPARED PLAY
MBlossom has prepared more than just the basics for their long-awaited debut. We've all heard of groups contributing to their album's composing, producing, and choreography, but MBlossom also designed their own album! Their maknae, TaeKyung, took part in designing their debut album in a cloudy blue. With talents in vocals, dancing and now designing - MBlossom seems to have a lot of talents up their sleeve!
3. BALLAD PLAY
As the group's second stage, MBlossom performed their sub-track "Don't You Hide Love Pain". The track was composed and written by U-Jin in entirely. The boys desperately sang about a love that has gone away. Compared to their first dance track, the audience was able to better listen to the members' impressive vocal skills. Although it's the beginning of spring, the ballad sub-track was music to our ears.
4. SOOBIN PLAY
MBlossom is full of talented members, but their main vocalist SooBin has stolen our hearts. He introduced himself as the member in charge of honey vocals, but we didn't know he literally meant it! While they were singing their ballad track, SooBin belted out his highlight ad-lib vocals. We were totally in awe when he sang out notes in perfect pitch with so much emotion behind it. To compare his vocal style, we'd have to say that he reminds us of the vocal-specialist group, 2AM. If you combine his vocal skills and his visuals, we think SooBin resembles BTOB's EunKwang as well.
5. ARMY PLAY
The group was formed in an unconventional way. K-Pop groups are usually formed by the label through an audition recruitment process, but the four boys met each other through personal experiences. U-Jin, SooBin and TaeKyung all met while they were serving their mandatory military services. While in the army, they met each other through performance groups. After they finished their services, U-Jin contacted the two members about the possibility of forming a K-Pop group. Soon after, TaeWook was introduced to U-Jin through a friend. Thus, the MBlossom was born!
6. YOUR LIPS PLAY
To close out their debut stage, MBlossom performed their Spring Carol song, "With Your Lips". The boys brought out a cute love seat as they sang a delightfully sweet medium-tempo sub-track. From their beautiful harmony in voice and dance, MBlossom's fans will surely fall more in love with the rookie group through the sweet love song.
7. MBLOSSOM PLAY
All in all, MBlossom seems to be rookie group to look out for in 2017! The boys already have plans on promoting in Japan starting in April. The funny, playful members are full of jokes as much as they're full of neo-soul. Do we have the boy version of MAMAMOO in the making? MBlossom hopes to be remembered as an artist group, rather than an idol group. Considering their older age range, the group seeks to embody the image of next-door-neighbor oppas. Best of luck to the four boys' promotions in both Korea and Japan!
