One thing that makes K-Pop so special is the way each member of a group has its own role to play in the music. There are the vocals and the rappers, and it is the harmony of both styles that makes K-Pop songs what they are. Yet, not all idols are confined to their speciality. Indeed many artists are capable of both singing and rapping, and that is without mentioning their dance skills. So many K-Pop idols are multitalented despite having a special position in their group. And that can cause much confusion when fans discover other skills from an artist for the first time as they may not give the same image and vibe they usually do.

For example, there are some K-Pop male and female rappers who ended up doing vocal performances where they displayed their incredible singing voice. Yet, it was as mesmerizing as it was confusing to some as the artists voice sometimes changed from a husky voice to a light and clear one, or some other suddenly had a very soft image compared to the strong one they showed during their rap performances. So let's see who are the 8 rappers who showcased their vocal skills, proving the world they could also be main vocals.

Note: this is not a ranking.

        1. MONSTA X' JooHoney

JooHoney is a rapper that really stands out in the industry for his unique voice color and the power of his rap. Yet, when he sings it's a completely different story. While his voice is still very powerful, it becomes more soft and emotional, winning all fans' hearts at once. One performance that especially moved MONBEBE and even non-fans was the one on the TV show 'Tribe of HipHop', where JooHoney snag in duet with the veteran Korean actress Kim YounGok. This performance move everyone's heart as it was a very touching story behind a wonderful melody.

        2. A.C.E's Kim ByeongKwan

A.C.E might not be a big group, but their rappers are really something. Similar to JooHoney's style ByeongKwan knows how to make use of his one of a kind voice to create dynamic and addictive raps. Yet, once again, rap was not his only talent as ByeongKwan also has an amazing singing voice. Gentle and fragile his voice becomes one of an angel when he starts singing. He proved his vocal skills in many of the group's covers, hopefully we will one day get to hear a full vocal cover of his.

        3. ONEUS' LeeDo

LeeDo is known by fans and non fans for his very deep voice both while rapping and speaking. Not that many rappers in the industry have such a low voice, and it's because it's so rare that fans appreciate it even more. But a few times already, LeeDo has shown that he could be an amazing singer as well, switching from a deep and imposing voice to a high and small voice. That sudden transformation of the member had fans gladly surprised, and nobody can get enough of this duality LeeDo holds.

        4. Stray Kids' Han

Stray Kids got very popular due to their unique music style, and very talented vocalists and rappers. But today we'll focus on the vocal skills of one of the rapper. Han also showed an extreme duality between his rap and vocal performances. His voice doesn't change that much, instead it is the emotion in his voice and his singing style that give him a totally different image than from when he is rapping. One performance that particularly got the audience shocked was Stray Kids performance on "KINGDOM: LEGENDARY WAR", when the group had to do a cover of their senior BTOB. During this unique performance of 'I'll Be Your Man' signed by Stray Kids, the public was amazed with Han's ability to reach the main vocal's high notes.

        5. MAMAMOO's MoonByul

Moving on from boy groups, girl groups also have powerful rappers, it is the case of MAMAMOO, for example. MAMAMOO's rapper MoonByul has sort of an husky voice, and she keeps it even when she sings. Because her voice doesn't change and keep this one of a kind color, her singing performances get even more emotional, she truly tells a story as she sings. Of course, she does the same when she raps, but despite being the same voice the feelings of each type of performance is very different giving a totally different experience for the fans and non fans to enjoy.

        6. BLACKPINK's Jennie

Another rapper that could switch to main vocal any second is Jennie. Of course her raps are incredible and unforgettable, but she also displayed her pretty singing voice many times before. People got to hear the best of her vocal skills in her first solo album that went viral with the song 'SOLO'. Along with the addictive dance that many fans learned, this song gave Jennie a chance to show the world her vocal skills along with her rap skills. Indeed, with this album, Jennie showed that she needed nobody else than herself to shine.

        7. HyunA

HyunA is also an artist who created her own universe thanks to her one of a kind voice and music style. There is no one like HyunA out there, and nobody can deny that. Especially recently, HyunA has experimented various style and genres in terms of music and fashion allowing her to shine even more in her own way. But of course, her vocal skills stays her main strength as she can. both rap and sing. A that point, we could even wonder what is HyunA's official position because as a soloist she carries both perfectly. In her latest release 'Navillera' she really combined all styles, and all her skills as well, showing both her cool rap style and her gentle singing voice.

        8. Jessi

Last but not least, you surely heard some of Jessi's songs before. And in most of them, you can witness bother her strong and energetic rap and her light and harmonious vocals. Maybe you didn't pay close attention before to the duality of her voice because the two goes so well together, but there is a drastic change in her voice when she switches from vocal to rap. And that is also what makes her stand out so much. With her strong and outgoing personality having such a contrast in her voice is something that probably no one expected, but now we can't get enough. Hopefully she will one day release a full vocal song for us to enjoy her angel voice.
