A Mexican ARMY Talks About Her Favorite Group BTS And Her Bias Jin

There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’s stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other.

So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias.

 

Liz is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Mexico and is a fan of BTS, particularly of Jin! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more!

 

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hi!! I’m Liz and I’m from Mexico! Thank you for reading this.

 

How and when did you enter the fandom?

It was 2020, the pandemic didn’t allow us to go out. I was very sad because of that, but then I remembered that my cousin told me about BTS. And from that day, their music started to give me hope.

 

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I think because they make me feel loved and unique. They bring happiness wherever they go inspiring people with their efforts and success. Besides, their songs are full of meaning and you will want to listen to them over and over again. The 7 members have shown the world their passion on stage, their kindness and love for their careers and fans have made them the amazing people they are today.

 

Who caught your attention first and why?

Jin. His worldwide handsome face, broad shoulders, silver voice, but I could never forget his eyes that made me fall in love with him.

 

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias is Jin, because of the effort he put into everything he does, his love for ARMY and self-confidence, and his perseverance to pursue his dreams. For these reasons, he got me to love myself.

 

Can you recommend a title track and b-side track for new fans?

For sure, I recommend as a B-side ‘For You’,

 

and for the title track it’d be ‘Answer: Love Myself’

 

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

Yup, it has to be “Eat Jin”, I loved watching this series, it brings me back fond memories of him enjoying food as much as I do. But also because I read a lot of comments about how this show made a lot of ARMY overcome their eating disorders.

 

Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group?

To me, their ‘Fix You’ cover was so cool, the harmonies were so stable, that it made it my comfort zone to stay and listen.

 

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

“You’re really the only one who needs to acknowledge your efforts.”

For you, what are your bias’ best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam.

Yes, OMG, he looked so handsome in this pic. I loved his amazing features and gaze, his purple hair, and his outfit, like a charming prince. But also his outfit for his ‘Moon’ performance, his earrings were the perfect match. I’ll love to see him dressed like that again.

 

What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy?

For BTS, I wish them all the success they deserve and to find their soulmates in their lives.
For my bias, I wish him to have his own mixtape released, with his promotions and the opportunity to perform it at a big event. But mostly, to be awarded for all the awards he deserves.

 

Is there particular information that you want to say to new fans because they mostly don’t know about it?

I would love to show baby ARMYs all the good actions BTS did in their career, for example, their donations to many good causes and the stories of many ARMYs that tell how BTS songs helped them during struggling days.

 

If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them?

I want to show them how much I love them by giving my best in baking desserts for them. Of course, my handmade cupcakes

 

If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do?

Take a bike ride together in a park, have a picnic, go home, and teach each other how to cook our favorite food. And at the end, have a talk enjoying the view of the Han river.

Caring, understanding, hardworking, passionate and genuine.

 

Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias?

It was in 2018, Jin talked about BTS considering disbanding in the MAMA awards. It was his shaky voice and his crying eyes that made my heart feel so sad. I shed many tears that day.

 

What about your bias do you relate to the most?

With our love for cooking for others and making them happy, to show others how much we care for them.

 

What is one thing that you think is unique about your bias/bias group?

The power to change other people’s lives.

 

Would you like to see your bias group in variety shows? What type of variety show would you like them to do?

Definitely on a food program. Did I mention I love to cook? Well, yes, I think Jin would be the perfect guest.
Or if not, on “King of Mask Singer”, I love this program, and Jin’s silver voice could never go unnoticed.

 

What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying?

That I can share my love for BTS with other fans, to be part of an amazing family and meet new people

 

What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life?

To don’t give up, keep going forward, fight for the things I like, live with passion, and love myself.

 

Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)?

I hope that someday people will recognize their success and the great bond with their fandom.
I think people should also respect the likes of other people and don’t throw hate if they don’t know them well
