A.C.E Rings Our Alarms With Their New Comeback "SIREN:DAWN"

A.C.E members Jun, DongHun, Wow, Kim ByeongKwan, and Chan are back with their 5th mini-album, "SIREN: Dawn," which will be dropping on Jun. 23 at 6 pm (KST). Their title track for this album is called 'Higher,' and the music video was released on Jun. 22. The new release has found A.C.E on the top of the Billboard's Next Big Sound chart at number 4 for the week of Jun. 26.

CHOICE (A.C.E's fandom) were excited to see Wow scheduled to perform with the other boys. He went on a mental health hiatus just before the release of A.C.E's collaboration with Grey on their track 'Down,' and couldn't promote with the other members. CHOICE are excited to see all of the members together again.

Concept

"SIREN: Dawn," shows us the sexy and mature side of A.C.E. It is divided into 3 versions to appeal to the different tastes of CHOICE. There is the SUN version, ECLIPSE version, and MOON version.

Their new title track 'Higher,' tells the hazy tale of a mermaid's love from A.C.E's perspective. It is meant to be mysterious, a little bit scary, and nostalgic at the same time.

Fashion & Appearance

This comeback is all about vivid colors, pastels, and flowing fabrics contrasted against edgy black.

It has unofficially been dubbed as DongHun's era by many CHOICE. His long pastel hair creates a mystical look, which perfectly suits this comeback's concept and makes him look like some type of angelic but mythical being. He is also getting a lot of praise for the spiky outfit he wears in the music video that is made out of zip ties.

Kim ByeongKwan also rocks colorful purple and blue extensions to give himself a unique and fantasy-inspired mohawk.

CHOICE have been marveling at how poetic the choreography and staging for ‘INTRO: Miserere Mei Deus (We Fell Down)’ is and how it flows into the starting position for ‘Higher.’

A.C.E performed the medley on "The Show," on the same day that their music video dropped, and it was breathtaking. K-Pop fans everywhere have been marveling about how it seemed like something out of a musical.

They’ve even linked this part of the choreography to A.C.E’s 2020 hit ‘Favorite Boys.’ In that music video, DongHyun played the role of the God of the Underworld. CHOICE noticed that when the other members fall down as if they have died at the end of ‘INTRO: Miserere Mei Deus (We Fell Down),’ DongHyun doesn’t get all the way down. He sits slightly up and then resurrects the other members.

There are 5 tracks on the album: 'INTRO: Miserere Mei Deus (We Fell Down),' 'Atlantis,' 'Higher,' 'Chasing Love,' and 'Story.'

'Atlantis,' was actually gifted to A.C.E by PENTAGON's Kino who wrote and composed the song.

'Story,' was written and composed by DongHun and Chan co-wrote the song. It is intended to be about the relationship between A.C.E and CHOICE. Chan says that you can feel the history behind A.C.E's 4 years together and the personal things they've gone through if you listen to the song.

Fun Talks & Episodes

The A.C.E members have even released a video of them doing the fan chant for their performance. Fans have been laughing at how unfamiliar they are with the words and how they seem like they didn’t practice before recording the video. It started off rocky but made for some good laughs and a memorable chant.

To the surprise of CHOICE, there was recently a change of leadership in the group. Wow mentioned wanting to become the leader of the group as one of his wishes. To our surprise, A.C.E's official Twitter account uploaded his induction ceremony shortly after that. Don't be confused though, it is only temporary! Jun is still the leader of the group, Wow is just the leader for this comeback! Do you think he'll do a good job?

Chan mentioned that one of his hopes for A.C.E's future is that people who watch their performances will be inspired by how they can pull off any concept that they try. A.C.E always shows a different and new side to their comebacks and this one is no different!
