Acting Sensation Byeon WooSeok Confirmed To Appear At “ASEA 2025”

The Asia Star Entertainer Awards 2025 presented by ZOZOTOWN (“ASEA 2025“), where music, stars, and fans unite, is set to take place on May 28 and 29 at K-Arena Yokohama, Japan. On April 10, the ASEA Organizing Committee officially announced that Byeon WooSeok will be appearing at the event. Byeon WooSeok is scheduled to take the stage as the presenter of the Grand Prize on the second day, May 29.

Originally debuting as a model, Byeon WooSeok began his acting career with the 2016 tvN drama “Dear My Friends“. Since then, he has steadily built his acting portfolio through various works including SBS’s “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo“, MBC’s “Weightlifting Fairy Kim BokJoo“, the film “Midnight Runners“, tvN’s “Record of Youth“, and JTBC’s “Strong Girl NamSoon“.

Demonstrating a gradual rise in his career, Byeon WooSeok created a sensation last year with his role as male lead Ryu SunJae in the tvN drama “Lovely Runner“. With his striking visuals and emotional, delicate portrayal of romance, he captivated audiences not only in Korea but also globally. His Asia fan-meeting tour, which spanned 12 shows in 8 cities including Seoul, Taipei, Bangkok, Manila, Jakarta, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, was a complete sell-out, proving his explosive popularity.

Riding on this wave of popularity, the OST “Sudden Shower”, sung by Byeon WooSeok for “Lovely Runner”, dominated music charts, surpassing even major digital music powerhouses. As a result, he is being considered a strong candidate for the OST Award at ASEA 2025.

Currently dominating the advertising scene and continuing to show off his “Byeon WooSeok power,” the actor has also confirmed his role in the upcoming drama “The Crown Princess of the 21st Century“, in which he is expected to share a romance with IU, raising anticipation among fans.

Now in its second year, ASEA is a music awards ceremony that brings together top Asian stars and unites global fans through music. The inaugural ASEA, held in April last year, featured high-profile artists like Stray Kids—who won three awards including the Grand Prize—TXT, DAY6, TREASURE, SHINee’s TaeMin, and Creepy Nuts, thrilling music lovers around the world.

This year’s lineup is equally spectacular, with top-class K-Pop and Asian artists who have achieved meaningful success on the global stage over the past year. Confirmed performers include (in alphabetical order): aespa, ATARASHII GAKKO!, &TEAM, BADVILLAIN, ENHYPEN, HANA, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, NCT WISH, NEXZ, NiziU, n.SSign, SAKURAZAKA46, SKY-HI, THE BOYZ, THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, timelesz, and Xdinary Heroes.

On the first day, May 28, hosting duties will be handled by THE BOYZ’s JuYeon and IVE’s Rei. Actor Jang KeunSuk will present the Grand Prize on day one. On the second day, MCs will be actress Kim HyeYoon, MONSTA X’s HyungWon, and THE BOYZ’s YoungHoon.

“ASEA 2025” is hosted by Newsen, Korea’s top entertainment and sports media celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, along with star & style magazine @star1, which marks its 13th anniversary, and The Star I&M. It is organized by the ASEA Organizing Committee and ZOZOTOWN.
