Alleged Sexual Harassment & Denying Entrance At Recent BTS Event
According to South Korean news agency Yonhap News, there was allegedly an incident of sexual harassment and denied entrance to certain fans at a recent BTS fan meeting that took place in Busan, South Korea on June 15th.
Parents of young BTS fans in their elementary school years have been expressing their disbelief and anger over the way the event organizers have handled things.
So to explain, BTS fans who were underage were unable to purchase the tickets to the event, which is why their mothers purchased the tickets, meaning that the purchase was made in the name and credit of the fans’ mothers. Apparently, because the purchase of the tickets were made in the mothers’ names and not the actual BTS fans who were trying to attend the event, the parents brought documents to prove that they were related. However, the concert organizers refused to let the young BTS fans in because the tickets were not purchased in their names, despite being shown documents proving family relations.
Some students in middle school were able to purchase the tickets themselves, but were denied entrance because they brought copies of their student ID, and not the actual document.
One mother stated that while BTS was a world class group, the event organizers and agency responsible for the BTS event were second class, while also stating that she would be taking legal action.
Some fans have also stated that some security guards were verbally sexually harassing them as well.
A spokesperson for Big Hit Entertainment has responded and denied that sexual harassment took place. In addition, the spokesperson has also stated that stricter measures were taken to prevent illegal entrance.
