Big Hit Entertainment

October 13th marked BTS member JiMin’s twenty fourth birthday.

And naturally, various different hashtags related to JiMin’s birthday began to trend on Twitter.

However, one hashtag in particular, #HappyBirthdayGorila has also been trending as well.

ARMY were quite angry as such a hashtag was left to trend online on JiMin’s birthday.

Various reports have claimed that the hashtag was actually written by an X1 fan, who claimed it was made just because he or she liked the nickname Gorila.

The alleged fan eventually wrote a letter of apology, not handwritten, but through the memo app on the phone and uploaded it online.

This caused more criticism as many felt that the apology wasn’t sincere and that more efforts such as hand writing it would have probably expressed more thoughtfulness.

However, it has been revealed that the creator of the hashtag was a twelve year old who also eventually wrote a handwritten letter of apology as well.

Netizens then began to say that it was unnecessary to attack and criticize the twelve year old so harshly as well.

What do you think of the situation?

Hey hey hey.. Oh well as they do as kids. Say things and write things on line, that’s human. Come on we live in a world full on social media what can you do. Once it up on line that’s it. People and fans would judge. It’s what we do. We got nothing else to do. Like now. We are on here bloging and writing about this matter. Our veiws on it. If I was a fan I’ll hash tag it. I know for him jimin will understand. So to the B.T.S like myself I wouldn’t be mad or offended… Read more »

Umm… I’m 14, and I think this thing should stop already since the person already apologised and that I think that Jimin will also forgive her if he saw the hashtag. I do agree that she is responsible on what she say things online but she shouldn’t be “trending” because of this.

If she’s Korean and one day will have future in luck to debut, she would find this regretful thing she had done, still in future she will be like Taeyong.lol now get me? Kid this age still act like kids, then in future they feel remorse too. Just think what are people doing to Taeyong right now, feel unfair and they know it had coming to them, they apologized. Now read again. I’m sure you won’t understand this on first read. Good luck.

Wow! Such a mature fandom we are setting example of by behaving like them exactly and making fun of them by calling it temporary. One fan doesn’t represent whole fandom, if that was the case our ARMY fandom would be the World’s Most toxic fandom ever!
So, remember to not behave like an idiot just because some idiot did something stupid

Honestly, I don’t think Army was harsh on her. She is twelve and she knows better. I’m 11 and I understand that everything you say consequences, good or bad. Also to make this even worse, she’s a kpop stan herself, so she would understand that comments hit hard on idols. For example, you recently heard sulli the idol who commit suicide, because she was suffering from depression(from hate comments). And I don’t think Jimin wants to be called a gorilla because for one, it is NOT flattering. Well, I hope army can forgive her, but if its my choice I wouldn’t… Read more »

I’m 13, only a year older and I appreciate the hand written apology. But what she did was still wrong. She took it upon herself, and made a completely conscious decision that involved unnecessary disrespect. If she still got backlash AFTER the written apology well that shouldn’t have been done by the people who brought it to the table. I’m sorry but it was wrong and I’ll stick by my opinion, because it is simply rude and it’s also cyber-bullying which is not a light topic in itself. So in conclusion, what she does was unnecessary and rude, but I… Read more »

You all blaming her for literally nothing. and then having the audacity to call her apology not sincere enough? what do you expect from a CHILD?
jimin is fricking 24. at that age you should be grown enough not to take some strangers comments on the internet serious.
And most important: Gorila ffs is not an insult.
