2023 has an excellent roster of webtoon-based K-Dramas in store for us, and the latest addition to it is "Marry My Husband" - a modern romance by sungsojak and LICO. At the time of writing, top Hallyu actress Park MinYoung and rising star Na InWoo are in talks for leading the drama, raising anticipation among fans who are eagerly waiting for their screen comebacks. In addition, the talented and beloved actor Lee YiKyung has also reportedly been offered a leading role in the drama, and he is reviewing it as well. Given the popularity of the original webtoon, netizens are excited to see how its charm translates on screen, especially with such an excellent (potential) cast.

"Marry My Husband" tells the story of Kang JiWon (to be played by Park MinYoung), a terminally-ill young woman who finds her husband, Park MinHwan (the role that has been offered to Lee YiKyung), cheating on her with her best friend, Jeong SuMin (the role that actress Song HaYoon is in talks for), and is later killed by his very hands when she threatens to expose them. However, in a fantastic turn of events, she comes back to life 10 years in the past to the same year she got married to MinHwan and now seeks revenge against her cheating, abusive husband in the best way she knows - by getting him to marry SuMin!

Awake once again, she's met with her past acquaintances, including MinHwan and SuMin. The same people who pushed her to death were now standing before her, all innocent and sweet. The contrast was so painful that tears ran down JiWon's eyes until she thought of one person whose existence remained a blur in her memory - Yu JiHyeok (to be played by Na InWoo), the Head of Marketing at U&K Food, the company where she worked ten years ago.

JiWon remembers JiHyeok as a man of few words, dignified and reserved. However, now that she's looking at him again with a different lens, she can see that he is a gentle, caring, and soft-hearted person despite his cold and indifferent exterior. Slowly, the life she knew begins to change as she makes new memories, especially with JiHyeok, and learns to stand up for herself better to ultimately lead a happy life, just like she promised her father.

With new (true) friends by her side and full knowledge of how her choices could alter the future, JiWon becomes more self-aware and steps into her power as the strong and independent woman that she is. She starts noticing the beauty of her life and all the wonderful people she has by her side, which allows her to fully bloom as an individual. The webtoon charts her growth and development as she navigates this new old life and realizes that she deserves happiness just as much as the next person. Thus, Kang JiWon rewrites her own destiny and in the process, finds the love of her life to ultimately achieve her happily-ever-after.

With Park MinYoung's title as the "Queen of Rom-coms", "Marry My Husband" would be the perfect addition to her illustrious filmography, were she to take the role. Kang JiWon is a complex character, filled with dualities and effortless charm, so we're already thrilled to see Park MinYoung bring this character to life. On the other hand, if Na InWoo accepts the offer to play Yu JiHyeok, we'll be lucky to see him in another romance drama, which is an absolute treat, going by his track record. Either way, we cannot wait for "Marry My Husband" to reach our screens.
