April The Biggest Month In 2019 With BTS, BLACKPINK, & TWICE’s Upcoming Comeback
With three top notch K-Pop idol groups all having their comeback release scheduled in the same month, April is most likely going to be the most important month in 2019 for K-Pop.
Below is everything we know so far.
BTS – Map of the Soul: Persona
Being very busy with their recent Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, it’s a mystery how BTS even had time to prepare for their upcoming comeback so fast. But then again, they are known to be the only K-Pop idol group of being able to achieve the impossible, as they’ve taken K-Pop to a whole new level.
Big Hit Entertainment officially confirmed that their upcoming comeback release Map of the Soul: Persona is scheduled to be unveiled on April 12th. Pre-orders have been available since March 13th.
According to Teen Vogue, fans are currently speculating that BTS and Big Hit might have been preparing for this comeback since years ago.
“Fans have noticed that BTS might have been planning this album name for a while. “You telling me they’ve been planning 2019 comeback during DNA era?!?! Mah brain hurts,” a fan wrote, with a photo of a shirt that reads “Persona.” Multiple people pointed out references in their 2018 MAMA performance and in the last scene of the “Epiphany” music video.”

BLACKPINK – Kill This Love
We know that YG Entertainment is currently going through turbulent times after having gone through multiple scandals involving former BIGBANG member SeungRi and even alleged tax evasion news about agency’s founder Yang HyunSuk. Which is why BLACKPINK’s upcoming comeback is probably going to be the most important comeback for both the group’s and agency’s careers.
BLACKPINK’s comeback is scheduled to be released on April 5th.
While not much information about TWICE’s upcoming comeback has been leaked, we do know that their comeback will be a full length studio album based on JYP Entertainment’s statement. The exact date has not yet been confirmed either so far.
In short, April is not only going to be the most important month for K-Pop in 2019, it’s also probably the month other idol groups and singers would probably want to avoid releasing their music in unless they potentially want to get destroyed on the charts.
