You may or not have heard of all-American K-Pop group, EXP Edition but they did became a sensation when they debuted. One reason why EXP Edition became a huge topic was because of the fact that there were no Korean members. K-Pop fans began to wonder if the group is considered to be 'K-Pop' just because they sang in Korean. Needless to say, there were also many people who dislike the concept.
However, it is hard to benchmark what is considered to be 'K-Pop' as it differs from people to people.
With the recent news that Z-GIRLS and Z-BOYS are debuting, the issue of them being considered as a K-Pop group began to trend on several online communities too. Once again, giving some background information, both groups do not consist of any Korean members and are from 7 different Asian countries.

Some people were surprised as they thought that even though they do not have any Korean members, they were going to sing a song in Korean. With that, others begin to suggest that both are just a 'pop group'.
Some Koreans also think that they should not be considered as a K-Pop group just because they have plans to promote in Korea as well as sing in Korean.
