"Arthdal Chronicles" was one of the most awaited dramas of the year in the international community and after 3 parts it came to an -partial- end. It is time for a review of the whole drama (part 1 to 3). Spoiler-free.

It tells the stories of various heroes writing different legends of the mystical and ancient country of ArthdaI. It is the first ancient times fantasy drama of Korea with a blockbuster-like casting with Song JoongKi, Kim JiWon, Jang DongGun, and Kim OkVin.
Online the debate is fierce, either recommending it or not. Many are in love with the drama while some are disappointed. From my point of view, it is a must-see drama at the only condition that new seasons are produced. Here is why I recommend the drama.
Top actors with perfect acting
For this epic fantasy action drama, top Hallyu actors were cast and their acting was perfect and emerged viewers in the plot.
High-budget production for impressive sets and costumes
It is the Korean drama that received the highest production cost ever. That budget could clearly be seen with high-quality cinematography, beautiful props and costumes, and spectacular landscape.
The production team managed to create numerous tribes with unique colors including languages, outfits, houses, and lands. It is truly a stunning achievement.
The huge work of the production team cannot be separated from this review because they created a whole world with new mythologies and fantasy elements.

Superb plot and fresh theme
The plot is amazing with diverse characters, epic scenes, and political schemes. For a K-Drama lover, this drama truly makes a difference and marks history. It was a risky choice but it turned out well.
For me, I felt that part 1 was interesting, part 2 was exciting and part 3 was awesome. It got even more and more captivating with time. As mentioned earlier this drama would make no sense if it stops with its part 3.
A high-scale and deep story
Even if the drama is set in ancient times, modern issues can be noticed such as modern slavery, child slavery, discrimination, indigenous people rights, consumerism, and much more. Or maybe I am going too far?!

What could be better?
There is a lot of new vocabulary and signs specific to the drama. I totally understand why they were created but some felt just too much and excessive time to time.
Moreover, I feel somehow that the non Korean-ess of this series made it accessible to people new to K-Dramas. It feels in some aspect 'universal' (minus racial diversity). While being a good point, it could also lead to negative aspects such as the saying that the costumes look like the one of "Game of Thrones". They were not signs of Korean artifacts or culture on the visual aspects.

Who should watch?
You should watch if you are looking for a complex epic fantasy drama and if you are looking for a Korean drama of a new genre.
However, if you want an easy-to-watch romantic drama, you should pass on this one.
