One of the things we love most about K-Pop is the amazing music videos it produces.
In fact, one can argue that a substantial portion of investment for K-Pop idols goes into music videos.
2018 was a year filled with chart-killing comebacks. And those comebacks most definitely came packaged with quality visuals as well.
Here are our picks of 2018’s best MV’s.
TWICE – What Is Love?
JYP Entertainment really outdid themselves with this one. In fact, the production team and staff at the entertainment agency unanimously agreed that the MV for What Is Love was by far JYP Entertainment’s most successful MV of all time.
BTS – Fake Love / Euphoria
As always, BTS delivers their very best for their fans. All of the wild scenes in the video have been revealed to be real and not CG. Yes, the explosions and fire are all real. It’s the attitude and mentality that really sets BTS apart. They put every effort into every detail.
HyoLyn – Dally
This video will be remembered as one of the legendary moments for K-Pop. It’s not often where we see a K-Pop idol queen present their swag in such a powerful way.
Momoland – BBoom BBoom
The editing and color scheme is just perfect to make this hit song even more likable. And we just absolutely adore the TV shopping mall concept for its adorableness factor.
BLACKPINK – DDU DU DU DU
It’s impossible to have a bad music video if YG Entertainment is producing it. BLACKPINK’s latest MV for DDU DU DDU DU is the best thing YG Entertainment did this year. And it’s great to see Jennie sitting as the queen on the cute giant chessboard. And the fennec fox is adorable too.
SunMi – Heroine
Although the song was subjected to a plagiarism controversy, there’s no denying that the MV is absolutely stunningly well made.
