So there have been generally two types of things that people have been saying about the breaking news of BLACKPINK member Jennie dating EXO member Kai.
Some people say it’s a scandal because Dispatch “exposed” the news. Others say it’s just surprising news since neither of the K-Pop idols received any backlash from their agencies and the majority of fans. In fact, SM Entertainment calmly confirmed that the news was true and fans of both idols seemed to be quite supportive of the relationship.
This may indeed be the first step in ensuring that dating life of K-Pop idols, which has always seemed to be one that entailed a lot of controversy for some reason, won’t necessarily be considered as anything close to “scandals” in the future. Well, at least, hopefully.
“So how does YG Entertainment CEO Yang HyunSuk feel about this?” you might be wondering.
While he hasn’t exactly expressed anything explicitly to the public, he actually seems quite fine with it, judging by his recent Instagram post that celebrates Jennie’s birthday. After all, Jennie and BLACKPINK are currently one of the hottest idol groups that YG Entertainment has under their belts at the moment, and the girl group is scheduled to have quite a busy and spectacular year in 2019 as they embark on their North American and Australian tour, while also securing their activities in the US a bit stronger than before as they’ve partnered up with US record label Interscope.
