According to YG Entertainment, all four members of girl group BLACKPINK will be releasing solo music very soon. The first to do so is reported to be Jennie.
Despite a lukewarm reaction from fans as they feel YG should be focusing more on giving the girl group a full length studio album, CEO Yang HyunSuk stated that he intends to show each individual members' strengths through solo releases.
YG Entertainment released an official statement along with a teaser image on October 25th for 'JENNIE SOLO'.
Fans who are attending the independent BLACKPINK concert on November 10th and 11th will be able to hear some of the songs that will be included in Jennie's solo album.
In addition, BLACKPINK is currently preparing for their US debut as they signed under Universal Music Group's label Interscope.
