Big Hit Entertainment's CEO and creator of BTS, Bang ShiHyuk, made a statement back in October 24th, 2009, praising SM Entertainment's idol group TVXQ.
His compliments towards the idol group has been resurfacing online these days and has been the catalyst of many netizens reminiscing about the golden days of TVXQ, when their popularity came second to none.
During his appearance on MBC Everlon's Star The Secret back in 2009, Bang ShiHyuk claimed that TVXQ was perfect, flawless, and world class. Each of the members possessed all the qualities that a K-Pop idol needed. They were visually outstanding and their vocals were sublime. He also revealed that he was shocked at how amazing they were after seeing them perform for the first time.
And it's true. Long before the birth of BTS, K-Pop was still very much only popular within the domestic market, only having a small number of foreign fans all spread out across the globe, before it accumulated and became what it is today. TVXQ was one of the key groups that were the first to spread K-Pop across the world, beginning with Japan.
Unfortunately, the veteran idol group has went through a a lot of lawsuits with SM Entertainment and isn't what it used to be anymore.
