BTS “MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA” Is 88,000 Copies Away From Being The Best Selling Album In Korea
BTS “MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA” entered Gaon Album Chart with 3.22 million copies of album sold since its release on Apr. 12.
It was reported by Gaon Chart, on May 9 that the album was ranked the first in terms of album sales in the month of April. In addition, their title track ‘Boy With Luv’ was also the number one in terms on monthly digital download, allowing them to achieve a ‘Gaon Double Crown’.
Previously, BTS had sold a total of 2.19 million copies of “LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer” and they have broken their own record once again.
BTS has amazed public over and over again with their popularity as it was also reported that they had received a pre-order of 2.68 million copies of their latest album.
“MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA” currently holds the record of being the second highest selling album in the entire history of Korea. Solo singer, Kim GunMo holds the record of the highest selling album, “Wrongful Encounter” released back in 1995.
It was also reported that the difference in sales between “Wrongful Encounter” and “MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA” is estimated to be 88,000.
This is the first time in 22 years that BTS had entered the ‘Top 5 Best Selling Albums’ in Korea.
