BTSwas supposed to be holding their world tour "MAP OF THE SOUL" but due to the outbreak of COVID-19, shows had been cancelled as well as postponed.
With that being said, the boys had been interacting with their fans, ARMY, through many methods such as live broadcast through V-Live as well as YouTube live.
On May 11, BTS held a YouTube live session while discussing the concept of their upcoming album. If you wish to take a look at the full video, you can do so below.
Leader RM mentioned that while many people are going through the time of pandemic, he wishes to let people know that it is not the end and life has to go on, just like their latest title track 'ON'.
Suga shared that he wishes that their concept this time would not be too 'dark'. Compared to giving comfort to someone directly, he shared that it might be better for people to receive the comfort through other metaphoric method like 'Spring Day'.
Continuing, RM revealed that while he was looking through the mobile app "Weverse", he noticed that just like them, ARMY was disappointed at the cancellation of various tours and shows. As such, the keyword 'telepathy' appeared in his mind.

Without saying out loud, he mentioned that BTS and ARMY will be able to understand each other through telepathy and suggested that it could be a theme in their new album.
Jin also shared that while he was chatting with his friends about happy and difficult times, he also noticed how there was a connection that arose from the conversations. He suggested the word 'sympathy' and mentioned how it would be nice to be able to make a song that allowed them to relieve their stress.
Among their various suggestions, some also shared that they would like an energetic song like 'So What'. J-Hope also did not fail to mention that he wishes that the songs would have their own unique colour and the ability to give someone a BTS vibe.

The meeting ended after about 27 minutes and ARMY was glad to see that the boys were sharing the ideas and the behind the scene production with them.
It looks like BTS will continue to share and update ARMY about their new album.
