        With BTS being the number 1 K-Pop group all over the world, many cannot help but wonder who is going to be the new top group after BTS. Global media have a close eye on BTS but other groups are also in their radar.

        It is undeniable that MONSTA X is THE fastest growing K-Pop group at the moment! The group from Starship Entertainment is undeniably one of the artists with the most potential to be the 'Next BTS'.

        MONSTA X debuted back in 2015 under Starship Entertainment through the reality show "No Mercy". The seven members have been growing in popularity ever since their debut, album after album. Last year, the group seems to have made a further step in the overseas market.

        The group came back on Feb. 18 with the album, “Take.2: WE ARE HERE” with the title track, ‘Alligator’ and this album is currently taking the spotlight. Fans all around the globe are having high expectations.

        MONSTA X's presence overseas is becoming more and more recognized and we have narrowed it down to three key elements of why they are one of the fastest growing K-Pop group overseas.

         

        1- Presence in Foreign Media

        You would already be aware of it but the exposure in media is always essential for a group and it seems that overseas media have locked their eyes on MONSTA X and their talent.

        They were featured in globally famous media such as Billboard and Forbes, and they have also gathered great attention from non-U.S. media such as Metro (UK) and El Mundo (Spain). These media covered the third season of “MONSTA X-RAY”, 2nd world tour and also their appearance in "Jingle Ball" tour.

        Billboard ranked MONSTA X 6th on the "Top 10 Most Anticipated K-Pop Albums of 2019" and Pandora - one of the major U.S. streaming platform - selected the group as 'Artist to Watch' in 2019 and they were the only K-Pop artist on the list.

        Billboard mentioned the group numerous times. The group also appeared in various media such as Allure, The Guardian, LA Daily News, OC Weekly, Just Jared, Metro, etc.

        I.M also had two individual interviews in English, one with Chicago Tribune and another with BBC Radio.

        Media wrote about them, but the group was also invited in shows in the U.S. during their presence in the country. Their most famous appearance was in the talk show "Good Day New York" (Fox 5) for a live talk show on Jul. 23, 2018. In August, they were at the AT&T Sound Studio of KIIS FM with Jojo Wright. They also were on KTLA 5 morning news for an interview with Sam Rubin where they explain to him about 'Shoot Out' dance on Nov. 30.

         

        2- Global Tour

        MONSTA X successfully finished their 2nd World Tour ‘THE CONNECT’ with more than 20 cities in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S. Not every K-Pop group can fill that amount of concerts in a single tour. Many fans are waiting for the announcement for the 3rd World Tour and the fans are hoping for new cities to be on the list for their tour schedule.

        But that is not all. MONSTA X was also the first K-Pop group to be part of iHeartRadio ‘Jingle Ball’ tour! which Started from Nov. 30, 2018. The group performed on the famous Jingle Ball stages with other renowned artists including Cardi BShawn Mendes, Calvin HarrisCamila CabelloKhalidDua Lipa, G-EazyAlessia Cara, Bazzi5 Seconds Of Summer and more. Five cities were announced in the beginning -Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Boston, Philadelphia- and they did one more in New York, completing 6 cities.

        During their Jingle Ball Tour, they impressed a lot of U.S. citizens who were not that familiar with K-Pop and gained new fans with their powerful performances.

         

        3- Collaboration with Global Artists

        MONSTA X members mentioned on several occasions that they wish to do collaborations with global artists and they met some of them during their participation in Jingle Ball, including Shwan Mendes, Cardi B, Camila Cabello, etc.

        The group collaborated with top international artists. The Chainsmokers had a collaboration stage with MONSTA X during Jingle Ball and sang 'Something Like This' together. Gallant had an interview with MONSTA X in a mini-documentary, "When You Call My Name" (Viki 2018) and they performed an acoustic version of 'Beautiful'. PREP released the song 'Don't Look Back' that featured ShowNu and So!YoON!.

        The latest collaboration is with Steve Aoki with the song, "Play It Cool" in the album, "Take.2: We ARE HERE".

        With their talents becoming more recognized by top media and artists, it seems that MONSTA X is walking towards the road of global fame or maybe, running.

        The group is on the spotlight and seems to be one of the artists that will most likely grow as big as BTS in the future.
