"Change Days 2" Episode 1 Recap: Get To Know The Couples Of Netflix's Exciting New Dating Reality Show

After the raging success of "Single's Inferno" in 2021, Netflix is back with another sensational dating show that is ready to turn up the drama quotient higher than ever before. Get ready for "Change Days 2", the new and improved second installment of the popular dating reality show "Change Days". Hosted by Jang DoYoun, Yang SeChan, Heo YoungJi, and Code Kunst, this season welcomes 4 struggling couples to an island getaway and gives them the opportunity to explore new romantic avenues outside of their existing relationships. By the end of their 2-week stay in Jeju Island, each contestant must choose to walk away, either with their old lover, their newfound flame, or alone.

Meet The Couples

 

1. Lee JeongHun & Choi HuiHyeon

The JeongHun x HuiHyeon couple has been dating for 1265 days, making them the longest-standing couple on the show. JeongHun was formerly a member of idol group TST and is currently a dance instructor. Choi HuiHyeon is 27 years old and she runs a pilates gym. The two met on a blind date when JeongHun was a trainee and they officially became a couple soon after.

 

2. Kim TaeWan & Kim HyeYeon

The TaeWan x HyeYeon couple has been together for 241 days. Kim TaeWan is a 27-year-old fitness trainer and Kim HyeYeon is a 29-year-old nursery teacher. HyeYeon revealed that while TaeWan was like a little brother to her at first, her mind changed when she noticed his persistence. TaeWan added that he was emotionally stimulated by her and really wanted to be her boyfriend.

 

3. Min HyoGi & Choi YunSeul

The HyoGi x YunSeul couple has been dating for 529 days. Min HyoGi is a 26-year-old actor, who you might remember from "Color Rush" and "Color Rush 2". Choi YunSeul is 25 years old and she is a university student. HyoGi confessed his feelings for YunSeul the day he first met her at a friend's party as he couldn't get her out of his head. YunSeul shared that what she loved about him was the fact that he was only kind to her.

 

4. Kim DoHyeong & Kim JiYu

DoHyeong and JiYu dated initially for 9 months, broke up, reunited after three years, and have been dating for 171 days. DoHyeong is 29 years old and a mathematics teacher whereas JiYu is also 29 years old and a beauty YouTuber. JiYu was intrigued by DoHyeong's uniqueness and DoHyeong fell for JiYu's confidence.

 

Ideal Type Reshuffling

In the very first episode of the show, each individual contestant has to go on a date with their ideal type. This ideal type is chosen from amongst the participants, based on a prior interview. These new couples are determined by the production crew in accordance with each person's preferences, likes, and dislikes, thus creating the "perfect" match. Now, the question is, when faced with their ideal type, will the contestants be swayed?

Min HyoGi & Choi HuiHyeon

Min HyoGi has been matched with Choi HuiHyeon and they both get along well from the very start. They're drawn to each other owing to their similarities and have excellent flow in conversation. It almost feels as though they've found "the one" in each other. By the end of the episode, Min HyoGi asks HuiHyeon out on another date but she expresses hesitation in accepting the invitation as she is curious about the other contestants on the show.

 

Lee JeongHun & Kim JiYu

Lee JeongHun's ideal type turned out to be Kim JiYu and vice versa. With JiYu having an affinity for good listeners and JeongHun preferring to listen rather than talk, this couple had a sweet little cafe date. Although there were no fireworks that went off, there was definitely a little spark. JeongHun revealed in the confessional that his date with JiYu reminded him of his first date with his girlfriend, Choi HuiHyeon, leading him to contemplate why their relationship had taken a turn for the worse.

 

Choi YunSeul & Kim TaeWan

Choi YunSeul is paired with Kim TaeWan and despite their mutual efforts to connect with each other, they couldn't find much common ground to have a steady conversation. There wasn't any considerable chemistry between the two and YunSeul confessed that she was, in fact, thinking of her boyfriend, Min HyoGi. Later, when TaeWan noticed his girlfriend HyeYeon's positive reaction to her date, he declared that he does not "want to lose".

 

Kim DoHyeong & Kim HyeYeon

DoHyeong meets HyeYeon on the Ideal Type Date and these two have a wonderful progression of chemistry as they go from getting to know each other in a seaside cafe to a museum date, taking pictures together and spending quality time filled with laughter and compliments. They're both from Jeolla-do, which gave them more familiarity and they hit it off pretty quickly. Just like with JiYu, DoHyeong was charmed by HyeYeon's confidence, who in turn, liked the fact that he showed clear interest in her.
