Chinese Netizens Won’t Believe Fan BingBing Is Safe Until They See Her
Just recently, China’s top actress Fan BingBing, who has been charged with tax evasion, uploaded her statement of apology through her Weibo account.
She admitted to the tax evasion charges and stated she will pay every last bit of the $129 million fine issued upon her by the Chinese government. The actress could potentially face jail time if she isn’t able to pay the tax fine by the end of the year.
While her recent activity on social media somewhat eases down the concerns over her disappearance, some Chinese netizens have been saying that no one truly knows if she is actually alive and well unless they’ve seen her. They pointed out that this was only an apology made on social media and that it could be anyone writing it.
Chinese netizens have instead been calling for her to appear before in public and release an official apology to the public in order to put an end to the speculations over her disappearance.
