MONSTA X’s HyungWon, who enlisted on November 14, 2023, is currently serving as an active-duty soldier and is set to be discharged on May 13. His participation in “ASEA 2025” marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career. On May 29, he will serve as an MC alongside actress Kim HyeYoon and THE BOYZ’s YoungHoon. Although he was the first MC to be cast, the announcement was delayed due to his military service.

Debuting in 2015, HyungWon has made a name for himself with outstanding live performances and production skills. In 2023, he expanded his musical spectrum by forming the unit ShowNu X HyungWon with MONSTA X’s leader, ShowNu. Known for his versatility in singing, acting, variety shows, and DJing as H.ONE, HyungWon is expected to bring his dynamic presence to “ASEA 2025”. Notably, the day after his discharge, on May 14, HyungWon will celebrate MONSTA X’s highly anticipated 10th anniversary alongside his fellow groupmates.

This year, “ASEA 2025” will showcase world-class K-Pop and Asian artists who have made significant global achievements over the past year. The confirmed lineup includes aespa, ATARASHII GAKKO!, &TEAM, BADVILLAIN, ENHYPEN, HANA, Hearts2Hearts, KiiiKiii, NCT WISH, NEXZ, NiziU, n.SSign, SAKURAZAKA46, SKY-HI, THE BOYZ, THE RAMPAGE from EXILE TRIBE, timelesz, and Xdinary Heroes (listed alphabetically).

On May 28, the first day of the event, the ceremony will be hosted by THE BOYZ’s JuYeon and IVE’s Rei, with actor Jang KeunSuk presenting the grand prize. On May 29, HyungWon will join Kim HyeYoon and YoungHoon as MCs, while Choo YoungWoo will also be present as a nominee in the acting category.

“ASEA 2025” is organized by South Korea’s leading entertainment and sports media outlet Newsen, celebrating its 20th anniversary, along with the star & style magazine @style, marking its 13th anniversary, and The Star E&M. The event is hosted by the ASEA Organizing Committee and ZOZOTOWN.

The second round of ticket sales will begin on April 8, with more details available on the official website (www.asea.kr) and the ZOZOTOWN special page. The “ASEA 2025” official website will continue to release updates on the artist lineup, award categories, and judging criteria.
