Are you a Lee MinHo fan and/or a fan of his dramas? MINOZ might have noticed this common point between his two dramas "City Hunter" and "The King: Eternal Monarch".

"City Hunter" aired in 2011 and was popular all across the globe. It is one of the key dramas of Lee MinHo's career. In 2020, the top Hallyu actor is back after his military service discharge to the small screen with the new drama "The King: Eternal Monarch". The drama is one of the highly awaited dramas of the year and started with high popularity.

But then what is the common point between these two dramas? It is the first main scene of Lee MinHo in South Korea which is also his first scene with the lead actresses. These two memorable scenes were filmed at the same location: Gwanghwamun Square.

In "City Hunter", Lee MinHo was raised in South East Asia and after becoming an adult, he decided to go to South Korea to take revenge for his father's death.

Lee MinHo first main scene in South Korea is located in Gwanghwamun Square (at the end of episode 1) -if we ignore the 10 seconds scene of his arrival at the airport. He was filmed in the middle of the square near the water fountain where the lead actress Park MinYoung was giving samples to passerby. This is where they first met. The location was clearly filmed.

In "The King: Eternal Monarch", Lee MinHo was located in the Korean Empire, a parallel world to ours. While riding his white horse, he crossed the door between the two worlds, going from the Korean Empire to South Korea.

He made his first appearance in this world in Gwanghwamun Square. The lead actress Kim GoEun was nearby driving when she noticed him. As a lieutenant, she decided to arrest him for breaking the traffic law. It is their first encounter filmed in a Gwanghwamun Square at night.

The main difference between the scene is that in "City Hunter" the leads did not meet like in "The King: Eternal Monarch", they were simply standing next to each other.

Gwanghwamun Square is not a popular location for filming Korean dramas. It is interesting to see that Lee MinHo is making his impactful entrance in South Korea once again and 9 years later on the same spot.
