EVERGLOW Strikes Gold Once Again With Latest Comeback "Last Melody"

The certified hitmakers of K-Pop, EVERGLOW, have officially made their comeback with their third single album "Last Melody". It was released on May 25, 2021 and the song 'First' served as the title track for the same. There are two versions to the album, titled "Last Melody"and "First Memoir" respectively. The album is available as a physical copy and for downloading and streaming. As expected, EVERGLOW has once again nailed the formula for success with "Last Melody", maintaining their position as one of the best 4th generation K-Pop groups in existence.

Concept

The overarching theme of this album is the arduous but worthy journey of finding light and hope by cutting through the darkness. It echoes the sense of a new beginning, starting afresh and reveling in the happy memories of the past rather than wallowing in regret. It also aims to present a stronger, bolder and more chic image of feminity as opposed to traditional values associated with the same. Not only is this revolutionary in the sense of progressiveness but also a much-needed wind of change in the K-Pop industry.

Three TYPO images were released for "Last Melody", each of which carried an eeriely calm and yet, otherwordly atmosophere. It seemed as though, these images were trying to convey the presence of all the elements. The sense of calmness also reflects the oncoming new start, which seems to be the concept of this album.

Two versions of concept photos were released for "Last Melody". The red and black version represents a fiercer and bolder look as the members sport black clothes adorned with leather, chains, harnesses, garters and buckles in subtle details. They're making a statement but it's not too loud or in your face, which is certainly refreshing.

In the second concept photo, the members are in white against a greyish blue background. This image has a softer charm with eyelets and fringes replacing the harsher leather in the previous concept photo. However, it still retains a strong aura, playing on the idea of femininity, gentleness and strength at the same time. Needless to say, EVERGLOW does this flawlessly. Onda's jewelry that she ever so gracefully donnes on her head makes for a key highlight and so do Mia's braid extensions.

This is also the outfit that the group wore for their performance showcase for "Last Melody" whereas, their music video for 'First' had them in both the outfits from their concept photos as well as a red themed set of outfits. The members dance against the backdrop of the sea, a green-house like stage decorated with twines and greenery as well as what looks like a construction area and a ring of fire in outer space where they can be seen wearing apocalypse-inspired clothing. Either way, EVERGLOW certainly knows how to make their appearance eye-catching.

Before the release of the music video for 'First', a "Performance History" video was released by EVERGLOW where the members presented a live compilation performance of their popular songs from the past. This served as the perfect initiation for 'First', where once again, the members tore up the stage with their powerful and intense choreography. It is catchy and has a number of killing points which the members pull off perfectly, as usual.

"Last Melody" includes three songs in total - 'First' echoes the sentiment of looking for light and hope through a new beginning; 'Please Please' is an emotional ballad which brings forth and highlights the strong vocal power of EVERGLOW and finally, 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' delves into the happiness in memories rather than the harder parts. EVERGLOW worked with many talented producers and songwriters for this album such as OLLIPOP, Melanie Fontana and more and naturally therefore, the finished product is amazing.

The members shared that even though they have the pressure of always standing out because of their past success, it only drives them forward to do even better each time. The group also announced that they will be holding their first ever online concert on July 25, 2021, where fans can look forward to their solo and unit stages. Truly, we can't wait to see what EVERGLOW has in store for us next.
