On Jan. 21, 2019, FNC Entertainment’s long awaited girl group, ‘Cherry Bullet’ held their debut showcase at Yes24 Live Hall, introducing their first ever single “Let’s Play Cherry Bullet (Title: Q&A)” to the media. Kpopmap was able to witness their first step towards the upcoming journey the world awaits!
Kpopmap was presented with the girls’ personally signed album and our editors also noticed a small photozone put up outside of the venue hall!
Cherry Bullet is a 10 membered girl group FNC has produced for the first time in 6 years since the agency’s renowned, ‘AOA’ and the K-Pop fans have long waited for their debut.
Combination of two incompatible words it may seem, but if you hear the meaning of the group’s name, you will know why it works just fine. ‘Cherry’ represents sweetness and ‘bullet’ represents the energy that they will burst towards the audience. With cherry like loveliness, they will pierce through one’s heart with their energy.
With Cho WooJong (famous anchor in Korea) hosting the showcase, the show started with each member’s introduction as each member rose up from the podium and walked down the stairs one by one. For more HD photos taken by Kpopmap, be sure to check them out here.
All 10 members including one of “Produce 48” (Mnet) finalist, HaeYoon (aka. Eardrum Sweetheart, aka. Gomak Yeochin) was introduced along with a photo time for the media. For more details of each member, find out more through Kpopmap’s Cherry Bullet profile.
After the introduction, Cherry Bullet started an exciting and yet a nerve wrecking first stage with their title song, “Q&A”. The song filled the venue with bursting energy. It was powerful and cheerful at the same time. The song is an introduction to us, ‘if you have anything curious about us, we’ll answer and we hope to get to know each other a lot more.’
The breathtaking debut stage was over and proceeded with a mini interview. When the host asked how it feels to be on a debut stage, JiWon answered that she was really nervous, but she felt honored to be on this stage. HaeYoon answered that they are now officially a debuted girl group idol, which makes her more nervous, however, she is also very happy to be a part of this group!
The members headed backstage to prepare for their next live performance.
In contrast to ‘Q&A’, their second performance, ‘VIOLET’ was a Neo-soul/R&B based acoustic song. It was a song that reminded us of their cherry like sweetness and their performance was even more sweeter.
Third song, ‘눈에띄네 (Stick Out)’, which is also the last song of their debut album, was performed. It’s about a girl expressing her pounding heart as she falls in love. Each individual member showed their colorful charms and yet it was molten into one, generating Cherry Bullet’s own harmony.
After their final performance, the group held a “Q&A” session with the media. Like their title song, we were able to know more about Cherry Bullet.
One of the questions from the media was “what their goal in 2019 is?” and ChaeRin answered that they are “aiming for the ‘Shinin Sang (New Artist/Rookie of the Year)’” and BoRa added that they would also like to be “listed on the Billboard chart”.
As Q&A session was wrapped up so did their debut showcase, “Let’s Play Cherry Bullet”.
Cherry Bullet’s debut single album “Let’s Play Cherry Bullet” is released on Jan. 21, at 6pm KST and will have their first performance in the public on Jan. 24 at “M COUNTDOWN” (Mnet).
We would like to thank Cherry Bullet and FNC Entertainment for allowing us to witness their first ever performance to the public.
