FNC’s rookie girl group, Cherry Bullet came back to their fans in 9 months with a digital single, ‘Hands Up’.
This release means a lot to the group as this is the first comeback ever since the reorganization within the members of the group –LinLin, MiRae, Kokoro left the group back in December – and it was the first comeback after the announcement of Cherry Bullet’s fandom(Roulette) name.
“The name was decided based on our fans' opinions and it still gives me happy feelings whenever I hear the fandom name,” HaeYoon commented.
Not only did the group went through a big transition, but Cherry Bullet has changed its concept as the group now has applied a “Bullet Patch” and the MV teaser was clearly indicating a different vibe of the girls with more intense and bolder appearance compared to their “Cherry Patch”.
It can be anticipated that their cute and lovely side that was shown during ‘Q&A’ and ‘Really Really’ is now replaced with their “badass-ness”.
Like their change in appearances, the song ‘Hands Up’ brings a whole new sound of Cherry Bullet as well. This song is a trap track that is generous on 808s, along with a reef that was sampled from the classical composer, Beethoven’s “Fur Elise” that hooks the listeners within seconds after the intro.
Another interesting point about this song is the involvement of AOA’s Shin JiMin as she participated as a lyricist, looking out for her hoobaes(juniors).
“Not only did JiMin sunbae wrote the lyrics for this song, but she came by the studio every time we were recording for moral support and she shared her wisdom with us," YuJu said.
Cherry Bullet’s performance was filled with strong energy with well-organized choreography that depicts the song ‘Hands Up’.
They were fierce and confident, exotic and it seemed each moment of their past 9 month-break was counted for.
“With the change in our atmosphere, we focused and practiced a lot on our facial expressions to appear more charismatic. We hope our fans and listeners would enjoy our new exciting transition,” ChaeRin commented.
