Scattered leaves on the streets, high blue sky and seeing people’s hands refusing to leave from their comfy pockets, you know that winter is here in Korea.
On the coldest day of the year, CIX came back and dropped a hot second album, “HELLO” Chapter 2. [Hello Strange Place].
“I know it’s been only 4 months since our first album but we wanted to come back to our fans as soon as we can and share our stories to them,” Bae JinYoung said.
After releasing their debut mini-album, CIX “HELLO” Chapter 1. [Hello, Stranger] back in July, this is a sequel to the three-part album.
“We’ve tried to show a better version of ourselves from the first and this album reveals what this trilogy album is trying to tell so we had to be well prepared to send out the message to the audience with our own color.” leader, BX commented.
The album, like their first, was produced by a great producer, ‘MZMC’ who had also previously worked with BTS, EXO, NCT and more. Other famous producers such as Styalz Fuego, Anthony Russo, Anthony Pavel, Rice N’ Peas, and Pink Slip were involved in making and arranging this album which consists of five tracks including ‘Black Out’, ‘Rewind’, ‘Bystander’, ‘Maybe I’ and their title, ‘순수의 시대(Numb)’.
‘Numb’ is a hip-hop track that is heavy on the bass, sending out a message to the teens who have forced to keep their silence while witnessing the society’s neglect and bystanders.
Organized by the renowned dance crew, “JustJerk”, this makes it the second time working with CIX. The highlight of the performance would be the dance break during the chorus, where the boys burst out their unique performance giving it another layer of impact to the song.
When asked, what the key point in the choreography is, maknae of the group, HyunSuk answered, “What we want the audience to catch is the choreography as a whole and not a particular section. We focused on performing in unison and ‘Numb’s choreography best shows that part of us.”
The overall theme for this album talks about social issues that teens would experience in and outside of school which the group has put it into a five-part story film and have previously released it in their official channel. The epilogue is scheduled to be released on Dec. 4th, 2019.
