EXO’s BaekHyun Dominates With ‘UN Village’, Best Selling K-Pop Solo Singer To Date
EXO‘s BaekHyun first solo album “City Lights” proved to be the highest selling album for a solo K-Pop artist on the first day of release!
It was reported that he has sold more than 267,000 copies of “City Lights” since the release on July 10, making him the solo singer with the highest amount of albums sold on the first day of release to date. Based on a list compiled by a netizen, many could clearly see that he had sold albums way higher than other solo singers.
He broke the record of fellow EXO member Lay who was known as the highest seller with more than 125,800 copies of “LOSE CONTROL” back in 2016.

According to BaekHyun himself during the press showcase, ‘UN Village’ is a song that talks about the feeling of wanting to bring his lover to a hill near the UN Village located at Hannam-dong in Seoul. He also added on, saying that it is the perfect song to listen to at night.
Charting number 1 in over 66 different regions on iTunes and China’s biggest music site, QQ Music, BaekHyun has proved that he is well-loved by his fans from all over the world.
Fans love the album and left positive and supportive messages on various communities. Some mentioned that they love the title track ‘UN Village’ and also other songs that are also included in the album such as ‘Stay Up’, ‘Betcha’, ‘Ice Queen’, ‘Diamond’, and ‘Psycho’.
