The chunky heel trend is back among our favorite Korean fashionistas, and we want to show you how to wear these bad ass shoecessories!
Chunky was a word that’s been dead since the 70’s. The chunky heels made a brief appearance back in 2014, but it didn’t make much of a splash in the Korean fashion trend. It’s 2017 now, and the chunky heels are all the rage among our favorite fashionsta stars!
What, when, where and how do we rock out in these bad boys? Check it out!
This week, I’ll be challenging the latest shoes trend – the Chunky Heels!
I first came across this trend when I was smitten by this chemistry between Girls’ Day’s MinAh and Seo KangJun. Then I notice MinAh’s amazingly cute shoes and I had to know what they were! Turns out it’s an on-going trend as APink’s Son NaEun also wore chick chunky heeled boots to the 2017 Seoul Fashion Week~
I was in love with this new trend! Chunky heels have been a thing way back when, but has also become a frequent guest at some of the most popular fashion shows. They come in glitter, leather, wood blocks, fuzzy fur, bedazzled jewels and classic booties.
Although they look very very lovely, it’s definitely not something I can pull off on a daily OOTD. That’s when I went digging for some of the hottest chunky heels that I can pull off just on a casual setting. I found an immense amount of different styles that are both affordable and wearable at Imvely.
Style 1. Chunky Heeled Boots
It’s that odd time of the year when it’s kind of cold, but kind of warm. It’s the perfect time to kick out them chunky heeled boots! I’ve found inspiration from Han JiMin, Choi KangHee, and HELLOVENUS’s Nara to suggest pairing a pair of Imvely’s chunky heeled boots with a mutun coat, black knit, boot cut jeans and a chic pair of sun glasses.
Style 2. Chunky Heeled Sandals
But soon enough we’re going to sweating balls, and that’s why we need to think ahead with chunky heeled sandals! TWICE’s Mina, T-ARA’s HyoMin and Qri were my inspirations for a look that’s wearable right now, with heels that are wearable in the warming seasons! Try a long checkered coat complimented with bell sleeve knits, a fun black mini-skirt, and socks under your chunky heel sandals!
Now we’re ready than ever for chunky heeled shoes for any time, any weather and any season~
