Welcome to the ninth article of Kpopmap's weekly series "Girl Crush"!
This series will get to know some of the female idols who are girl crush material.
A 'girl crush' is defined as a woman or girl who is the object of one's admiration. In other words, one of the female K-Pop idols that fans wish was their best friend or girlfriend. This can be based on their style, personality, overall vibe, etc.
BLACKPINK's Lisa opened the series for us followed by MAMAMOO's HwaSa, TWICE's JiHyo, ITZY's RyuJin, Red Velvet's SeulGi, Jeon SoMi, STAYC's SuMin, and LOONA's Yves. Readers voted for ChungHa in our weekly poll (at the end of the article) to be featured this week.
Let's get to know our girl crush, ChungHa!
VOGUE
ChungHa is famous as a solo artist and a former member of I.O.I. They were the resulting group from the survival show "Produce 101" and all of the members have gone their separate ways after disbanding. Following her solo debut ChungHa has seen great success.
Recently netizens have been hyping ChungHa's collaboration with the dance crew Lachica on "Street Woman Fighter". The performance barely shows ChungHa and yet despite the already captivating dance performance by Lachica, ChungHa still stands out. The song 'BAD GIRL' itself is groovy and ChungHa's voice is charismatic along with her attitude and stage presence.
More than that, many people were touched by the performance because ChungHa has danced with the Lachica members since even before her trainee days and Lachica is her go-to dance crew for her comeback performances.
Her voice is not the only reason she gets recognition as an artist though. ChungHa is one of the best female dancers in K-Pop. In fact, the performance that earned her a lot of attention from K-Pop fans, at the beginning of her career, is still embedded in our minds.
During her time on "Produce 101" she performed a duet stage with Oh SeoJung. After seeing the performance, the judges asked her to perform a dance alone to any song. The song she freestyled to was 'Yoncé' by Beyoncé and although she made the dance up on the spot, it was such a powerful performance. This was the moment that many fans fell for ChungHa.
Since then, she has evolved into a dancer with some of the most gorgeous dance lines in K-Pop. She has a very dynamic and rhythmical style and her expressions can blow you away. Her synergy with her back-up dancers is also no joke.
You can see this in her dance practice for her hit song 'Bicycle' below.
ChungHa is also known for being the cutest dog lover. She even takes her dogs to the studio with her. In the post from her Instagram below, her dogs are in studio with her as she works on the OST for SBS's K-Drama "One The Woman". ChungHa is also a talented and sentimental ballad singer, proving her duality as an artist.

On top of everything, ChungHa has goddess-like visuals that are hard not to fall into. She is the current Reebok brand ambassador and rocks the brand in a hip and trendy way. ChungHa works with multiple other brands, too.
