Who would you like to see in the K-Drama adaptation of "Back To You"?
Ishani Sarkar, Kpopmap EditorOne of the most popularly beloved Korean webtoons of all time, "Back To You" by author Honey B is finally getting a K-Drama adaptation, joining an incredible roster of webtoons announced and confirmed to be adapted into live-action content such as dramas and films.
"Back To You", also known as "Just A Girl He Knows", is a time-slip romance webtoon that tells the story of HaYoung, an unassuming young girl who strongly believes that the boy who keeps appearing in her dreams is the one she is destined to be with. This boy is JaeHyun, a popular classmate and neighbour who seems to notice everyone but her. To JaeHyun, HaYoung is not a friend or a lover but rather just a girl he knows, and that apparent indifference is enough to deter HaYoung from approaching him. Nevertheless, JaeHyun is HaYoung's first love, and her heart remains unchanged.
Years later, HaYoung continues to be plagued by the same dream every November. Having spent her late teens either studying or thinking about JaeHyun, HaYoung never really paid attention to her own self. In the present, however, she is a confident office worker with quite the good looks. She has moved on in life, whether that be in terms of love and relationships or otherwise but JaeHyun is no more. He passed away in an accident on a rainy day and the last time she saw him is the scene that keeps coming back to her in her dreams.
Regardless, HaYoung does her best to live diligently, even if that means going on blind dates she isn't really interested in. On one such date set up by her best friend EunJu, HaYoung meets Min EunJae, a former high school senior. As he insists on walking her home, they get on a bus and reminisce about their first loves.
The next day, in lieu of being alone on JaeHyun's death anniversary, HaYoung meets up with EunJae to share a few drinks. As the alcohol takes over, she ends up confessing all about her first love, a boy she knew, her crush, JaeHyun, who she dreams of every November. On the way home, with HaYoung drunk out of her mind and EunJae barely holding on to her, they come across the cherry blossom tunnel once again. However, something strange stands in the darkness, causing the bus to crash.
HaYoung wakes up in a hospital bed with her mother by her side but the year is 2009, a time when JaeHyun was still alive. As it turns out, both EunJae and her had traveled back in time with all their memories intact. Soon after, HaYoung runs into JaeHyun, reminding her of the deep regret she felt for not having stopped JaeHyun from getting on the bus that day.
With a second chance at life, fully aware of the future that awaits, HaYoung makes up her mind to change the turn of fate, both for herself and JaeHyun.
You can read the full webtoon in Korean and English.
For fans of the webtoon, the news of an adaptation comes with great expectations, especially for the leading cast of actors. With these expectations in mind, we picked 9 actors/idols who we think would perfectly fit the roles of HaYoung, JaeHyun and EunJae. Vote for your pick in the polls down below!
Despite being timid and introverted as a high-schooler, HaYoung shows excellent character development throughout the webtoon, especially when she travels back in time. The new HaYoung is bold, outspoken, and doesn't hesitate to stand up for what's right. We think (G)I-DLE's MiYeon, Park EunBin, and Ryu HyeYoung would be incredible in the role of Yoon HaYoung.

JaeHyun is a dutiful, sensible, and mature person. He is popular yet lonely, mostly because he doesn't open up to others easily. However, has a heart of gold and is a true friend. Jang DongYoon, SF9's Chani, and Kang Daniel would be able to fulfill the complexity of JaeHyun's character wonderfully.

EunJae is the reliable best friend we all love and adore. He is understanding, warm, rational, and has extraordinary visuals. His relationship with HaYoung is more special than we're led to believe, so prepare for some serious second(?) lead syndrome. We think WOODZ, Kim WooSeok ("Military Prosecutor Doberman", "Rookie Cops"), and Choi HyunWook would make for the perfect Min EunJae.

Welcome to the ninety-seventh article of Kpopmap's bi-weekly series "Girl Crush"! This week's girl crush is the lovely (G)I-DLE's MiYeon!
Dyllan Mykel, Kpopmap EditorMiYeon is a bright shining ball of talent, in possession of outstanding skills and visuals. At times, she carries herself with an undeniable air of elegance that cannot be understated. From the way she dresses to how she walks onto stage, she's a true queen in every right. However, that's not to say she is this way all the time, as the idol is known to be downright silly, causing fans to erupt in laughter due to her various actions and words.
So what makes her a girl crush? Let's find out in today's article.
A 'girl crush' is defined as a woman or girl who is the object of one's admiration. In other words, one of the female K-Pop idols or Korean actresses that fans wish was their best friend or girlfriend. This can be based on their style, personality, overall vibe, etc.
Welcome to the ninety-seventh article of our series "Girl Crush"!
Let's get to know about our featured girl crush of the week, (G)I-DLE's MiYeon!
Although she started training to become an idol elsewhere, MiYeon eventually made her way to CUBE Entertainment. Then, after more time spent polishing her skills, she made her debut as an amazing vocalist of (G)I-DLE. Comparing her growth from then until now, MiYeon truly came into her own, becoming a valuable piece to the girl group.
The idol has wowed audiences far and wide with her incredible vocals, able to continuously belt out a succession of beautiful notes that leaves everyone breathless. Whether it's a cover, a group song, or an original, MiYeon lays all her cards on the table, raising the stakes for every performance. Even non-fans suddenly find themselves searching up her name and hitting replay on various videos.
MiYeon recently released a winter song medley that truly captured the cold elements of the season. However, she also provided much needed warmth to stave off the chilly weather.
And while she's amazing at dance tracks, she kills it with soul-wrenching ballads too. Her voice is absolutely haunting and without a doubt will surely send shivers throughout your entire body.
Of course you can't talk about MiYeon as an idol without mentioning her captivating stage presence. In combination with her stunning vocals, the idol commands the stage whether by herself or with the rest of her groupmates. A natural spotlight follows her wherever she goes and you just cannot take your eyes off of her. MiYeon is truly the walking example of what it means to be a 'Queencard'.
Outside of her idol duties, MiYeon also had the opportunity to stand in the role of an MC for Mnet's "Mcountdown". She was a magnificent host, praised for her professionalism and respectful nature. However, she wasn't all business, as the idol was seen joking around with her MC partners behind the scenes and showcased a bright, shining aura all throughout.
Speaking to this, MiYeon has her moments of silliness that Neverland absolutely love and cannot get enough of. She naturally matches the energy of her members, even going above and beyond expectations. This willingness to show such a hilarious duality speaks to the sincere authenticity of her character.
Not even 30 seconds in the video 😭 they alr doing Tom and jerry things 😭😭 MISHU is so unserious 😂#workdol #gidle #MIYEON #SHUHUA pic.twitter.com/GDL6ENVnLM

Then there's MiYeon's spellbinding visuals, which speaks for itself all on its own.
Now, these are only a few reasons to love the idol.
