Here Are All 13 Of The Characters That Died In "Penthouse: War In Life"

"Penthouse: War In Life" is the K-Drama that has had netizens talking since the success of its first season. It follows the very complicated lives of rich families who live in the lavish apartment complex, Hera Palace. It is full of suspense and unexpected twists and turns, which kept viewers on the edge of their seats until the show came to an end recently.

The show was popular for its dramatic storylines and hardcore themes such as deceit, murder, a focus on wealth, and unexpected personal relationships. Starring Kim SoYeon (as Cheon SeoJin), LeeJiAh (as Sim SuRyeon), and Eugene (as Oh YoonHee), to name a few, the drama gained a lot of attention for having powerful female leads. These are not women that you want to mess with.

On top of that, the drama became turning points for the careers of many young actors who have become sought after in the K-Drama industry. These actors and actresses include Kim YoungDae, Kim HyeonSoo, Han JiHyun, and Choi YeBin, etc.

Due to the dramatic plot of "Penthouse: War In Life" many of the characters (from main roles to supporting roles) died throughout all three seasons of the drama. It might be difficult to keep up with all the characters that died and to remember how, so, we've compiled a list of all of the characters who didn't make it to the end.

Here are all of the characters who died during the 3 seasons of "Penthouse: War In Life".

 

1. Min SeolAh (played by Jo SuMin)

Her death started the plot of this drama. After crossing paths with the residents of Hera Palace, they decided that she was a nuisance and wanted to get rid of her. She was murdered by Oh YoonHee but each of the residents played a role in her downfall.

 

2. MinSeolAh and Ju SeokGyeong's father (played by Ki TaeHwa)

He was killed in a hit ordered by Ju DanTae.

 

3. Yang MiOk (played by Kim RoSa)

Yang MiOk is the penthouse housekeeper who had a creepy romantic obsession with Ju DanTae. After Ju DanTae remarried she was so distraught that she took her own life.

 

4. Congressman Jo SangHyun (played by Byeon WooMin)

He attempted to kill Shim SuRyeon after she blackmailed him but ended up murdered.

 

5. Yoon TaeJoo (played by Lee CheolMin)

He played the role of Ju DanTae's prior secretary. He died in a car accident after betraying Ju DanTae.

 

6. Secretary Jo (played by Kim DongKyu)

He was also killed after Ju DanTae found out about his betrayal.

7. Ha YunCheol (played by  Yoon JongHoon)

He is Ha EunByeol's father and was previously married to Cheon SeoJin, although his first love is Oh YoonHee. He was already terminally ill before his death but his ex-wife Cheon SeoJin pushed him off of a balcony leading to his death.

8. Ju DanTae (played by Uhm KiJoon)

He is one of the main bad guys in this drama. Ju DanTae was hungry for power and money. He would do whatever it takes to get what he wanted, even killing people. It eventually lead to his downfall as he started to be outsmarted by Shim SuRyeon (his ex-wife). In the end, she shot him and he fell to his death from the penthouse of Hera Palace.

 

9. Oh YoonHee (played by Eugene)

As one of the leading ladies in the drama, her death shocked many "Penthouse: War In Life" fans, especially because she was so crucial to each storyline. Oh YoonHee started from nothing but wanted to give her daughter Bae RoNa the best in life. She managed to climb into the league of the Hera Palace residents through an alliance and friendship with Shim SuRyeon. Unfortunately, her long-standing competition with Cheon SeoJin led to her death when Cheon SeoJin pushed her off of a cliff into the ocean.

 

10. Cheon MyeongSoo (Cheon SeoJin's father played by Jung SungMo)

He was Cheon SeoJin's father and held the power of her inheritance over her head. He threatened to take away her power within their wealthy foundation and this drove her over the edge. Cheon SeoJin ended up killing her father when he fell down the stairs but she let him die.

11. Cheon SeoJin (played by Kim SoYeon)

She is one of our female leads. She was in constant competition with Shim SuRyeon and Oh YoonHee. Much like Ju DanTae she would do whatever it takes to get what she wanted. Unfortunately, it worked against her. Her daughter Ha EunByeol ended up turning her into the police. After serving some of her life imprisonment sentence, she ended her life.

 

12. Shim SuRyeon (played by Lee JiAh)

She is the self-sacrificing hero of this story. Whilst all of the twisted events happened at Hera Palace, she always fought for justice. She was also willing to do whatever it took but always for the greater good. In her last attempt to do good by getting Cheon SeoJin arrested, one of her plans went wrong and she fell off of the same cliff, where Oh YoonHee died, to her death.

 

13. Koo HoDong and Logan Lee (Played by Park EunSeok)

Koo HoDong was the first character that Park EunSeok played on "Penthouse: War In Life". He was a P.E. teacher at CheongAh Arts School but it turned out that Koo HoDong was actually a disguise for a character called Logan Lee.

Logan Lee was Min SeolAh's stepbrother. He grew up with a bone marrow sickness but recovered after receiving a bone marrow transplant from Min SeolAh. He tried to find out the truth behind her unjust death and fell in love with Shim SuRyeon in the process. His death is one of the most unexpected ones in the drama, happening at the very end when the audience realizes that he relapsed and became sick again. He died from his illness and the final scene of the drama shows him and SuRyeon walking into the afterlife.
