How ARMY Feels About Prospect Of BTS Performing In North Korea
While relations between North and South Korea seem to be getting somewhat better on the surface in small baby steps, chairman of the Korean National Culture, Sports and TourismCommittee has expressed his hopes that BTS would be able to play a role as cultural ambassadors to help the two divided nations take measures closer to unification.
The chairman has stated that he hopes the K-Pop idol group will be able to perform in North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang, in September 2019, while also adding that as long as efforts and cooperations exist between everyone involved, the idol group’s performance in the North is quite possible.
But how does BTS’s fans ARMY feel about the prospects of the idol group heading to North Korea in 2019?
For the most part, many aren’t too thrilled about it as they feel that politicians are attempting to use BTS as a tool to achieve politically driven goals. After all, the idol group is worth nearly twenty six mid-sized companies in South Korea at the moment, and the influence that they can have is arguably greater than any other K-Pop group could have hoped to be.
Big Hit Entertainment has also responded to the issue by saying they are currently undecided in how things will play out.
Do you agree with some of the ARMY? Are BTS being dragged into politics?
