Age is only a number for Kim SoRi. She has proved that she is capable and has what it takes to be a K-Pop idol by getting a nod from even YG himself.
In the world of K-Pop and idol celebrities, it’s a lot more competitive and cut-throat than most people assume it to be. The chances of making a breakthrough are almost impossibly low and especially lower these days with the surplus of idol trainees in South Korea alone. However, SoRi is not daunted in any way as she continues to be active as a K-Pop idol despite her relatively older age in comparison to the majority of other K-Pop idols. Her love and passion for music is genuine. It shows in her eyes when she is in the spotlight.
My Idol Photostory: Kim SoRi
Kim SoRi was born on July 21st, 1990. She is the lead vocalist and leader of the girl group Real Girls Project. Before being a member of Real Girls Project, she was active as a member of the idol duo CoCoSoRi.
SoRi appeared on JTBC‘s and YG Entertainment‘s MIXNINE, a reality idol audition program. She became the center of attention after Yang HyunSukspoke harshly towards her about her relatively old age for an idol and her career without any major breakthroughs.
However, despite the criticisms from YG, she stood her ground and gave a touching performance which gained her admiration from audiences in not just South Korea but also from global K-Pop fans keeping up with MIXNINE. YG himself has also complimented her in the end.
She has gained immense popularity on MIXNINE for her amazing ability to execute eye-pleasing choreography.
Although Real Girls Project only recently have begun gaining more interest from K-Pop fans, their current fanbase is strong and dedicated, notably the fans in Japan and the Phillippines.
Fans have also actively purchased Real Girls Project goods and merchandises. The fan-base continues to grow bigger thanks to the hard work and efforts of the girl group members. SoRi, Yukika, JiWon, and JiSeul have been attracting the interest of South Korean netizens not only through MIXNINE but also various other activities as idols.
For all serious music listeners and audio tech junkies, high-quality sound is of the utmost importance. Here’s an inside look at the Sony Audio store in Hongdae.
The audio devices that are used to listen to music are extremely diverse these days. The reason is because the type and genre of music people listen to are diverse and audio devices have been developed differently to suit the needs of different types of music listeners. That is also the reason why it is important to test out a pair of earphones before making a purchase if you want the best audio quality for the type of music you generally listen to.
So what makes the Sony Audio store in Hongdae worth visiting? Well for starters, the vibe of the store is extremely chilled out and allows visitors to test out a wide range of audio devices. The store is also home to four adorable puppies that belong to the manager of the store. It also has in stock products from the popular Sony 1000 X and h.ear series. The store additionally has the XB series along with various different Bluetooth enabled devices.
JiWon and JiSeul from Real Girls Project made a surprise appearance at the store. It was their first time ever to visit an audio shop and they were clearly fascinated by the features of Sony Audio’s products from the looks of their cute expressions below.
The girls were trying out Sony’s Noise Cancelling Headset 1000 X series which comes in three different variations.
Q: You said it was your first time visiting an audio store, what was your first impression when you came here?
JiSeul: Well, I always felt that audio stores were places where people with lots of technical knowledge visited. So I initially felt like I would be a little hesitant and shy when visiting the store. But since Hongdae is a place where young people gather and where the vibe is really open and chilled out, it was rather good.
Q: What do you think about the 1000 X series?
JiWon: I think that these pair of headsets would be really good to have on while practicing choreography. Up until now, I listened to music while practicing my dance moves through my phone and it was really problematic since my arms would get caught in the earphone wire sticking out of my pocket, sending my phone flying out. But these 1000 X series are wireless so I think I wouldn’t have any problems like that if I use it. Oh ,and the noise cancellation feature is awesome too.
Q: Which of the three products from the 1000 X series did you like the most?
JiSeul: I liked the WF-1000 X since it was completely wireless and the way it fit on my ears was nice. It’s also very compact and portable.
JiWon: I liked the WH-1000 XM2 because the feature where you touch the headset to disable the noise cancellation is so cool!
Kpopmap had the opportunity to join the girls of Real Girls Project at their official fan meeting that was held in Seoul.

The fan meeting also marked the anniversary of ‘[email protected]‘. Additionally, all ten members of the girl group were able to make an appearance for their fans. Some dedicated Japanese fans even chased them all the way back to Seoul after the fan meeting in Japan.
There were also a handful of cute merchandises such as calendars, glow-sticks, miniature figures, and accessories. The most popular item amongst them was the miniature figures of the girl group members. Goods will also be available for purchase online on November 21st and will also include other items that were not available at the fan meeting.
One extremely dedicated fan purchased badges right on the spot and began putting them on his backpack. As you can see below, he purchased four and pinned them all over his bag. The badges were actually an item of high interest amongst fans.
The lovely ladies of Real Girls Project also held an energetic performance as well with each member exhibiting their individual charm. Kpopmap staff members all agreed that they look even more beautiful in real life than from photos and videos.
