MBC’s “ISAC” 2017 Chuseok: Lineup

We are in the mid-June already and fans are starting to look forward to Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC) held in the second half of the year, the Chuseok special.

Although every K-Pop fans are familiar about ISAC, just to briefly explain for the new comers, it’s an event where majority of the idol groups are gathered to have an “Olympic” of their own. There are various events, such as track and field, swimming, archery, aerobic dance for men and gymnastic for women. Though it’s not the pro athletes participating, it gives tension to the viewers since idols have made a history of being unexpectedly good in sports.

Some of the infamous celebs get famous by their cool moves in ISAC, and for others, they show off their talents which was hard to tell on stages. However, the best part of ISAC is the fact that fans and idols are able to get together both physically and mentally by playing sports and cheering.

Last ISAC, which was held in Lunar new year of 2017, had numerous groups attending such as EXO, B1A4, AOA, B.A.P, EXID, NCT, LABOUM, NU’EST, Red Velvet, Gugudan, BTS, VIXX, SEVENTEEN, VICTON, ASTRO, GFriend, Oh My Girl, WJSN, TWICE, SNUPER, IMFACT and so on. Such awesome lineup is expected this season as well.

Girl’s Day once mentioned something funny about ISAC. Since it is the big gathering of so many groups, it’s also a place where boys and girls meet. We do know what happens when a girl and a boy meets, don’t we. There is the flow of chemistry, then the small chat then the exchange of number .. and so on. (Best not to think about it.) But that’s such a natural thing! However, what was funny here is that they have to be flirting where their EXs can be watching them. (Scary..)

Also, there has been some controversy of health issue. WooHyun of INFINITE was hurt badly where his shoulder muscle was torn. He couldn’t use his shoulders for a while even on stages. Fans worry whether their idols get hurt or get an injury.
